Does anyone know if there will be vendors at the race that will change / install tires for the spectators? It would be nice if there was something like the mobile repair / service shops that are set up at Sturgis. Drop off your bike, come back in a couple of hours and you have a fresh set of skins. I've got a long ride to get there, and I don't want to have to try and get my bike into a shop to get a new tire installed. |

Do yourself a HUGE favor and change your tires before departing for the trip. If needed, go with a set of sport-touring tires to avoid having to deal with changing tires en-route. |

heck- there's great place in san jose....think it's called 'sport rider', that has killer deals on tires. it'll be on the way for you. why do it at the track??!??!??! there's a good asiatic-scoot dealer in moterey ("penninsula") who does nice work, as well. PM me and I'll send you a nice list of good places en route, w/in a couple hours of laguna. |

I thought it over, and I'm going to put on a Pirelli Strada rear before I leave. This should get me through the trip. I'll swap back my almost new Diablo when I get back. Thanks for the info! |

I think he wants to keep compatible profiles in case he does hit some twisty bits. I think it's a good idea to use the strada rear for the trip. BTW I had a blow out on my rear tire on friday night at homecoming. I got a new Diablo Corsa put on at Road America by the Pirelli guys (Trackside Racers Supply) mounted and balanced for $150 total. Just be sure they put it on facing the proper direction! Laguna Seca will be different from most AMA races though, and pit access will be severely limited. Changing it before you go is a better idea. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=4062&post=693510#POST 693510 I am from Canada and had a buddy take his tire off and get it changed at this place in San Jose. Great deal compared to Canadian prices and good service too. |
