Wow, I just can not say enough about this site and the people that are drawn to it. I recently had to spend some money on my XB's belt drive upgrade. The money I spent on the upgrade was earmarked for a trailer to get my balloon around as I am in the midst of making a go of ballooning full time. While I was not looking Ebear posted a free trailer that I would have been able to easily (and cheaply) modify for ballooning. Pwnzer saw the deal and spoke up. When I made the "darn it missed the deal" post Pwnzer backed out and rolled the deal over to me. The process to getting a commercial license and a balloon is very expensive. I have been doing this on a shoestring budget as I had to shut down my paragliding school after the fires we had out here. I have gotten only part time work all winter and am so broke it is scary. You guys have made my life easier and a lot less stressfull. I have spent many sleepless hours trying to figure out how to make back the money I spent for the upgrade. I can not thank Ebear or Pwnzer enough for their generosity or Blake for putting together this little community enough.

I crew for a friend of mine who has a hot-air balloon. I work for free so I can catch a ride every now and then. I love getting high. |

Thanks guys, Tough road but it will be well worth it. Due to the kindness of Ebear and Pwnzor my goal is so much closer. To much gratitude to express online. I will be moving to NorCal (Coloma) soon and really needed a trailer to make some cash with the balloon before I go. My instructor included getting my balloon around in the lessons but the end of my lessons are a check ride away. Thanks again |

Skyguy - best of luck! My Dad also flies hot air balloons. Remember it's better to be sorry on the ground than sorry in the air. Be careful and enjoy the serenity that ballooning can bring. Pwnzor - what a nice gesture. Good things will come back to you ten fold. Kristi (Message edited by Ulywife on July 06, 2006) |

Ebear is the hero here, it was his trailer to begin with! He could have sold it, but he made it available to the first Badwebber to say something. We haven't met yet, but he had no problem giving a trailer to a total stranger. I'll definitely be looking to hook up for a ride with his group in the near future. In life, ya gotta surround yourself with the right people. And you can't fake it. The real people know. Skyguy was the right person at the right time for this trailer. |

Ebear is the hero here, it was his trailer to begin with! You're so right, forgive me Ebear! A very gracious offer that will make a difference in someone else's dream. The generosity of the people on this board never ceases to amaze me. It actually reminds me of the people I've met while hot air ballooning!

Olddog, I plan on get a license for almost everything that flys. So far I am proficient in the stuff below and Master rated in paragliders. Hanggliders, Powered trikes, Paragliders, Powered paragliders, Balloons. (And I wonder why I am poor lol) Next and in the following order are Sailplanes, Blimps, Rotorcraft. I don't like single engine planes very much and do not know if I will ever have the time and money to pursue jets so regular planes are last on my list. Flying is an awesome thing. Like pursuing any dream there are times when you are dead broke and times when you are doing well. I am in the broke phase for now. That trailer brings me much closer to being out of the broke phase. Ebear and Pwnzor helped out more than they know and I won't forget it. |

That's what real people do. They help. There are quite a few real folks here, I keep finding that out. |

Woohoo! I love helicoptors. I ride one about 1 or 2 times per month, Island Express Helicopter Service in Long Beach, CA. Really good folks over there. I used to make a lot of deliveries for them back in my courier days as they shuttle mail and packages from Catalina to the mainland. Now I bring them most of their spare parts and they give me a nice discount on rides to anywhere they go. Instead of $160 each way I get the round trip for the same price with 30 minutes free waiting time! And about 60% of the time my favorite pilot is even available... I'll let you guess why she's my favorite Just goes to show that when you do a good job, no matter how insignificant it seems to you, someone will notice. And good things come around again and again when you just make the smallest gestures of kindness. I love that sensation when the bird just barely gets off the ground.
