I did not read anything about tires in that thread. I've been running DOT Dirt Tires on my DR650 for the past three years and apart from steep lean angles that require sliding on pavement the tires are good. I'd say it was an accident. Don't confuse the 616s with dirt tires; they're street tires, pure and simple. Even Dunlop's own website confirms this. The only reason they need a second thought is because the tread life sucks. This doesn't appear to have anything to do with tires. It sounds like a freak accident.   M1combat Posted on Thursday, July 06, 2006 - 02:04 am:        Dirt is loose no matter what tires you're on.
