I'm looking at some powerlet products for my bike.. What do you think of them? does any one have any picture of wiring into the spare fuses? |

powerlet product? you mean power outlet, or am I wrong. If you mean power outlet, I installed one under my seat, right behind the battery to plug my GPS into. It has an inline fuse, and wires directly to the battery. Forgive me if I am incorrect in regards to the question. |

Ah, ok.. I don't know. The one I purchased I got from a local bike shop. It has a 12V cig lighter socket, inline fuse, and two leads for the battery. It also has a plastic nut on it so I could fasten it in a drilled hole if I wanted (more like it I had room). |

Powerlet - Great stuff, have installed spare sockets on my and wife's BMWs for heated clothes and electronics. The Powerlet/BMW plug is the way to go for moto-applications: robust, small, but big enough to "plug in" while underway if the socket's fixed to the bike (tougher to do with a pigtail socket, especially one-handed). Recently bought a socket kit for my XB-S in order to use heated vest in the mountains. Go with either socket or panel kit, which include in-line fuse... attach directly to your battery rather than through OE fusebox, makes troubleshooting EZ and avoids possible mismatch of aux wiring size with current draw through OE wireharness. Highly recommended. |

I'm going use the two spares and a relay and use a switch power switched power source to turn it on.... Question now is which one to use? Has anyone done anything similar? |

I've got 3 powerlets on my FJR. One straight to the battery (for charging or powering my tank bag), one off a relay (for passenger heated clothing) and one off a relay through a Heatroller (for my heated vest). You need to take precautions if it will be exposed to water, but great customer service (esp if you order from them) and good products. |
