Although I have known for a while that Moto Guzzi has discontinued the V11 series... I did not realize how rare they had become, in particular the Nero Corsa... I MUST get a hold of one... BAH!
any ideas where I can find one? |

Yup. Sad indeed. They actually do pop up here and there on Craiglist, though. Try the classified section of V11LeMans.com as well, or Wildgoose.com.

thank you very much... Is that you beauty? It may be unwise (financially) to go through with it, but I can not risk never having one of my own... I remember, back when I had been dreaming of that bike for several years, and was weeks away from buying it... Then I rode the Buell. (Message edited by interex2050 on July 04, 2006) |

I'm with you. They are my TWO FREAKING OBSESSIONS. I am without the Goose at the moment but I've been drooling for some time. One day very soon! Check out V11Lemans.com. Great site. |

I certainly shall, Another approach would be to try to contact the old dealerships and see if they can dig up a crated one... although that could probably only happen in my wildest dreams... |

My aged Italian bike has gone up in price tenfold. I beleive the right Guzzi will do the same, no doubt any Lemans will become collectable. |

Caveats though. I have quite a few friends who have Gooses and there are some issues to be aware of with the V11. Models from 2002-2003 have trans return spring issues where the spring can break leaving the tranmisson unable to shift. It can be a self repair but seems to be a common problem. Also speedo cables break regulary due to severe bend in the cable as it's routed to the trans. Regardless all of them swear by the bike, warts and all. And the 04 models (the first year of the Nero Corsa) seem to have the (knock on wood) return spring issue sorted. |

Yeah, those V11's are some really kool bikes. If I were king I'd have one of them too! |

I am not sure about pricing though, just like the buell the moment you buy it half its selling value vanishes... They do have their quirks... But there is just nothing out there like it Its big and comfy, and with top shelf components... Not to mention valve clearance adjustments are so much easier to do on the longitudinal V... Found one in texas... But that is a bit of a drive to get it |

I'm interested to know what sort of price they go for used over there. It may be cheaper to buy a European one & have it shipped. |

The most recent thing that I have seen go, was a V11 naked (no doubt sexy as well) for about $6000... I remember a few years back the naked could have been had for around $3000. The nero corsa that WAS for sale in texas went for $10000, once again if my mind does not decide to play tricks on me... How much can they be found for in the EU? There was a dealer here in L.A. a year or so ago that was selling new 03 V11 naked models for $6800. They sold out pretty quickly. I came across a sweet Nero Corsa a year ago as well back in Atlanta for rought $9700. Seller was desperate for the cash. Issue was it only had 2400 miles on it and due to Cali law used vehicles have to have 7500 miles. Really kick myself for not digging deeper to see what i could have actually done about it besides ride it across country and back. I've noticed that Craigslist in SF and Boston, Atlanta are good areas to check for used Gooses. |
