I crashed the bike a few days ago...I took it to the dealer and it looks all cosmetic. The worst is the dent in the frame but a little body filler and a puck I should be good. All scratches are on the right side of the bike. The swing arm is scratched, the frame has some minor scratches besides the dent, the headers are scratched, the front fairing is scratched. Some other minor nicks. I was thinking I could just buy some touch up and try to work it. If anyone has any advice that would be appreciated. Thanks, Kyle. |

Make sure you didn't warp anything with "the two straight 2X4 method" have a friend prop up the bike upright and hold a straightedge to the front and rear tires on both sides. If they're parallel, you win! If not, panic! What kind of gear were you wearing? I don't hear you complaining about missing skin. (and that's good!) |

Yea I'm fine...Head and shoulder hit first, pretty sore and a couple of scratches on the hand and leg but nothing serious. I had a full face, leather jacket, jeans and sneakers. I'm lucky. |

If the frame(gas tank)is significantly dented, in almost every instance I've seen posted on here, it's a total. Cost more to replace the whole frame than what the insurance company will pay. The dealer won't sign off on "little body filler and a puck" due to liability issues. Maybe you'll get lucky, but brace yourself. Glad you're ok! |

Yeah but I've seen terrible looking dents have no effect on those newfangled XBs. It might look ugly but the geometry could be ok. It might be worthwhle to take it to one of those computrack places where they can measure every aspect of your bike. http://www.gmdcomputrack.com/ I have no idea of how much they charge. (It's probably pricy) |

Yeah but I've seen terrible looking dents have no effect on those newfangled XBs.} But wasn't there a delay in producting the XB series because of the type of coating that was applied to the insides of the fuel storage area? What does this special coating provide and doesn't a dent in the side of the frame damage that interior coating? Just food for thought. |
