That would be awesome! Let's see these idiots around here ride their scooter and talk on the cell phone! I'd love it if EVERYONE had to ride a bike/scooter first/before they could get a driving licence. |

All: that is the way the rest of the motorized world gets around, It was like that in Honduras when I was there, women ride side saddle when in a skirt, [ visual houskeeper black dress and white linnen apron riding side saddle behind hubby to work.] 3 up not uncommon, A courier in a suit and tie riding the modern equivalent of the ol' DT100 milk crate tied to the back delivering business documents. We talk about our harrowing lane splitting adventures, that is just every day for them. I watched a guy split up next to a bus at about 10 mph the buss missed him by 2 or 3 inches If he had gone down fatal for sure, Hey Sky thanks for sharing that it was cool. I'd love it if EVERYONE had to ride a bike/scooter first/before they could get a driving licence. ME TOO! (Message edited by oldog on June 26, 2006) |

Seems like they are all getting around quite well. Amazing, reminds me of Bruce Lee's immortal words, "Water can flow, and water can crash. You must be like water, my friend." |

Europe just mandated new laws for receiving your motorcycle licenses. Something along the lines of you'll be at least 22-24 until you ride a real motorcycle (not a scooter aka step thru) |

Good god!!!...And not one collision?? I cant imagine that with how we drive. In Puerto Rico they drive cars the same way. The trick is not to worry about what you are doing, everyone else will do that, you just have to worry about what everyone else is doing. It is really easier than it sound, just have to have everyone else doing it too or you crash. Try lane-splitting in a Tempo on a two-lane highway with everyone going 60mph+. I saw the guy ahead of me do it, so I followed him. The traffic never braked, no horns, no cussing, just on-coming traffic moved their right tires in the dirt, the car being passed moved its right tires in the dirt and the car passing was straddling the center line. |
