Anyone know where to get parts for this helmet, it was made for Buell by AGV, I emailed AGV several times with no replies back. Here's a pic of the part, it is the plastic cover over the shield pivot point.

Umm,(trying to be helpful) if it's made by "AGV" you should find the "AGV" manual at a dealer and go to the replacement parts section for your part.I'm assuming the helmet is a standard "AGV" model/w Buell badging. I was very surprised when i needed replacement parts for my X-11 helmet recently and received said parts w/in days.Just look for a dealer who sells "AGV" helmets and compare yours to their product line. I have a Harley Davidson helmet that is made by HJC. In this case, the helmet is not a standard model, and I was told by HJC via email that I have to order the part through a Harley dealer. I searched high and low to get a new visor and I can't get one, neither can any dealer I've found. Oh well it was a free helmet anyway. |

Oh yeah, Matt? I have probably the same helmet or close to it, when I asked my dealer (Jones Harley-Davidson, Little Rock)about getting a tinted screen, they said the screen was not able to come out..What a bunch of Schmucks. |

???? get a sense of humour, it was yoke. I had a life once, i found it highly overrated. I guess my answer would be "or what" |

Maybe you've been 'chuckling' at your own "yokes" a little too long... |

Yes that is an AGV GP-1, or at least the visor mounting mechanism is the same... In fact I am in need to that very same part as mine popped off in traffic. |

curty- relax. i think all the stress of riding around without mirrors or rear brakes is taking it's toll on you. don't take it personally. it's a swell yoke. no offense intended |

On topic, those parts are REAL hard to find. I had this helmet a few years back. I finally found them in a HD shop after trying to match them with AGV parts for months, there are numerous designs of AGV side plates. Best to have HD find the helmet in their old catalog and order the sideplates from there, no "YOKING..." |

I still suggest that you talk to a AGV dealer, that is if you can find one... As my AGV GP-1 appears to be identical well aside from that yours is not rusty...

Thanks guys, got home from a ride and that piece was missing from the other side. I love the graphics on this helmet and want to hold onto it as long as possible. Craig |

I have a newer Buell helmet similar to Ducxl, the ones made by HJC. I was told by HD that I could only order HD parts for it. That's not actually true. Go to a retailer that sells HJC parts and try using visors from their other product lines. The first time you do this you'll have to have the pieces in front of you to try, but once you figure out which HJC helmet yours is a copy of, you'll be good to go from then on using Internet sites to by visors. Give it a shot. |

FWIW I think the KBC's are the best helmet for the dollar out there for people with oval heads. Scorpions seem to be their counterpart for those with round heads. So...good choice of lids, but I'll still stick with my Arai. |

me thinks Dako is a fishin' for yer compliments or mine... No, I'm just trying to find replacement shields on the cheap. But thanks!! I kinda like it. It starts to hurt at my temples after a while though. Does that mean I have a round head? I guess I'll start shopping for a Scorp. Do the sizes run the same? Thanks for ident Diablobrian. Honu, I think Interex2050's right. I have the same lid only with the Harley eagle on it. It's a little small on me and the face shield's a bit scratched, but I keep it for the.......... *clearing throat* "ladies" riding 2up.
You can buy one for parts for like $70. Check here motorcycle-superstore.com |
