I better learn how to crawl, 'cause my hungry chuck taylors (well, one of 'em) blew out at the seam between the sole and the upper. i brought them back to the shoe store and explained this to the salespeople, and i emailed the converse athletic shoe company and they told me chucks won't last long when used for motorcycling, but I know more about footwear than them and they make an inferior shoe so i'm going back to my pro-keds. don't know how converse intends to seel athletic footwear with this track () record.....figures it'd happen when my cons are out of warranty, now i need a skateboard to bring them back to the dealer, who knows far less than i do about athletic footwear... "i'm going back to my pro-keds" Why did you ever give up on pro-keds? Everyone that knows anything about anything knows you can never wear out a pair of pro-keds. Come back to the pro-keds fold and be happy again with your footwear.

Yeah, but did you tie the laces too tight and cause the blowout yourself? Or did the incompetent shoe salesman do it? rt |

Doggone shame that you took those brand new Ricta wheels off your skate board to use as fork and swing arm sliders.
I guess you'll be sneaking in the back door of the bus to get down town now.

Nope this is a converse-ation about Chuck Taylors. Have you tried Vans? those thick gum soles make pretty good brakes too. |

Is this what you're all talking about here? I had no idea these had a name associated with them: When I was a kid we just called them tennis shoes. Bought a new pair as soon as school let out for the summer every year and by mid to late July the sides were all blown out and they looked more like sandals than shoes and we just used them for fishing in the rivers since the gravel and sand would easily wash out the sides of them then. |

Wardan, Are those a Navy Blue? I've been looking for them for years! Where did you get them? We used to call them "Blue Bumpers" when I was a kid. I need those shoes!!! Brad |

Hmmm.. I have a pair of Chucky T's that have lasted about a year so far... no blowouts. When I was a kid, I did go through them pretty quick though. |

ROTFLMFAO! you got very good milage, when i was younger, skateboard shoes (before they were specifically branded as such)lasted on average 2 weeks... and i couldn't find a sponsor to cover the rubber, on the upside, i developed a fine gorilla grip on the board |

Adidas shell tops might be a good MC sneaker, what with the built in toe/shift pad. |

Have you tried Vans? those thick gum soles make pretty good brakes too. Old Skool Vans rule! guaranteed i'll still be rockin' an all black pair at 91yrs young. already told the wife to make sure i'm buried in 'em if i kick it before her.

They just don't build them like they used to. That's why I REFUSE to let my wife ditch my Chucky T's. I've had the same 2 pairs (one White & one Black) since 1987 |

DOD contracted converse to produce beautiful AWS SeAL shoes from the early '70s-'80s..... later ll bean scapped them up (USN switched overt o mesh wading shoes) and sold trhem as converse 'camp shoes'..... long since sold out...best darn shoes a froggie could find. hundreds of SeALs and Deltas swore by 'em....just flat chucks, od, with wrap-around toe sections for use with fins. i stockpiled a bunch, wore 'em all out by the end of the 20th |

I wear my all black Chucks for work. All black vans (old skool H-tops) are hard to find. Oh yeah, work is on the po-po boat! (Message edited by Paint shaker on June 20, 2006) |
