......and found out it's not for me. I was looking forward to seeing how the Uly rode and handled and discovered the following: *it is comfortable *smooth motor, good power, easy shifting *a crap load of wind just kept slamming my upper body *at a speed above 75mph on the interstate, the front end felt light almost "floating" I have been considering a replacement form my S3T and thought this may be a good choice (especially with the great new luggage system), but my S3T offers me far more wind protection and does handle better on the highway at higher speeds. I do not foresee myself doing any fireroad riding in the future either. Perhaps the taller windscreen helps more, but I am still partial to the sport touring approach and since Buell feels that sport tourers do not sell (an idea I still can not understand), I guess I will just have to keep riding my S3t until an option comes along. Don't get me wrong, I love my bike; I was just considering something newer and in my case....a little more relieable. Just a thought (Message edited by gomo on June 17, 2006) |

Shocks good - finally replaced (thanks to ebay) There will be articles covering the group riding stuff and more. I wish I could head up, I have an ill wife to take care of and fathers day rituals to attend to - plus the Buell is getting service. Wound up taking the Heritage to Americade this year. How's it going with thou? |

Gomo, Having an M2 & having ridden both S3 & Uly, I agree with you entirely, I found also that the Uly didn't have the punch of the tubers, but comfort-wise the Uly wins. I got less wind blast than the M2 but that's no surprise, I'd consider one as a replacement for the FJ1200 but not for the M2. |

I found also that the Uly didn't have the punch of the tubers, but comfort-wise the Uly wins That's why our M2 stayed when the Uly came home! My husband loves to romp on the M2, but the Uly comes out for his daily commute to work and when either myself or my daughter ride with him. I like the M2, but I love the Uly (from a passenger's point of view!!).

So, does anyone here ride the Uly with the taller windscreen? Let me know if it makes much of a difference> |

I have a ULY and i rode it home from Appleton to Orlando switching back and forth between the stock and tall Buell wind shields. I now am riding with no wind shield and like it the best. Too much buffetting with both of the wind shields for me. YMMV Frank |

Mike - I was 2 lots down from you at Marine Village. Did some great riding early in the week (Sun-Wed), but stayed more or less local to LG Thurs-Sun. I did meet a lot of folks I know up there this year, perhaps by next year we can manage communication a little better. |

I rode one for the first time at homecoming, road america. The suspension seemed really smooth. motor? I still like my m2's motor. shifting? a little stiff on the bike I was on. Nice bike. I would change the seat for sure, get the bags, and maybe the micron exhaust and tuned. Other than that, it was pretty good. |

So, does anyone here ride the Uly with the taller windscreen? Let me know if it makes much of a difference> I have the Cee Bailey's +2.5, and, yes, it makes a huges difference. It's no Gold Wing, mind you, but it does make interstate speeds much more pleasant. |

yeah, the uly isn't for me, either. I'm glad that people do like it though. It is way too tall for me and I don't follow the type of riding that it is intended for. Now, my firebolt on the other hand... |
