Ok, So I couldn't sworn that the tail light stays on just a 'lil while the bike is running. Anyways, I have altered the turn signals, and removed the plate light (for the time being), and when I ride at night my rear (no jokes) is completely dark. No lights unless I press the brake, or flip on the signals. Any suggestions? |

Yeah, replace the tail light bulb. (or plug in the spade connector) |

But the bulb works... while the brake is pressed. Or would it sill be the bulb? Spade Connector? All 3 plugs on the back of the taillight are plugged in. |

Brineusaf: In looking at the white tail light bulb that I have sitting on my desk here (I have a clear cover with a red bulb on the XB), I can quite easily see both filaments. There are 2 filaments on the bulb, one for the running light, one for the stop IIRC It is entirely possible that only one of them is broken. I would check it first as you should easily be able to see a burned out bulb, just by pulling your tail light cover. |

Ok, Thanks Doon. I didn't know it was a 2 filament bulb. Thanks for clarifying this. |

speaking of brake lights. Anybody have a reccomendation for a 1157 LED bulb that works well with a clear cover? ebay turns up a bunch of red leds, but not sure if any of them are any good. Thanks, |

Red LED 1157 bulb turns your 6 inch oval tail light into a 1 inch red dot since they don't reflect off of the chrome reflector. Looks cool when parked, real hard for John Q Public to see coming from behind you in traffic. Want a second opinion? Ask the driver who butt slams you how bright it is, if you still can. |

Doon-- the best thing you can do is get the led board from american sport bike (or build your own like i did) its a little pricy but it fills the whole lense up with LED's and is realy bright ( In the long run, I should have just bought that one, I didnt save to much building my own) |

Thanks guys. I am planning on getting the led board from American Sport Bike, but it won't be for a little bit, I was just looking if there was something brighter in LED available for the time being. |
