Just plain foolish...wear a helmet when 300lbs people are trying to hit you, but not when 3000lbs cars are out there....? |

That's what I was thinking too, until the no license thing came out, if that is true then he's trying to push too much too far... |

Did I understand that he didn't have a PA m/c license ?? Or did he not have one ever in any state, would make a difference if he simply didn't have a one in PA but had previously had one, passed a test somewhere and proved and DOES know how to ride ?? |

Ben got out of the hospital, released a statement that included the fact that from now on he will ride wearing a helmet. |

The following statement was released by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on Thursday: "In the past few days, I have gained a new perspective on life. By the grace of God, I am fortunate to be alive, surrounded by loved ones and lifted by the prayers and support of so many. I am sorry for any anxiety and concern my actions have caused others, specifically my family, the Steelers organization, my teammates and our fans. I recognize that I have a responsibility to safeguard my health in the offseason so I can continue to lead our team effectively. I never meant any harm to others nor to break any laws. I was confident in my ability to ride a motorcycle and simply believed such an accident would not happen to me. If I ever ride again, it certainly will be with a helmet. My deepest appreciation goes out to the Steelers organization and my teammates for the compassion they have shown me. The physicians and support staff at Mercy Hospital were simply amazing, and I will forever be grateful for their caring treatment. I want to assure everyone I am committed to a complete and timely recovery. I look forward to being at training camp in Latrobe and to winning football games this season. " |

Stupid is when one is incapable of learning from the mistakes of others. Ben is stupid. |

Stupid is when one is incapable of learning from the mistakes of others. The fact that he is alive after seeing the bike photo amazes me stupid is subjective Life provides 3 types of lessons: 1. Free lessons Big Ben sees some one go down with no gear and they get hurt 2. Cheap lessons Big Ben goes down with no gear, gets hurt and lives to tell about it 3. Expensive lessons Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was buried to day after dying from injuries recieved in a motor cycle accident. The PA Hwy patrol tells us that he was not wearing protective equipment at the time and might have survived the incedent if he had. He is survived by ........ From the porch Oldog |

I don't think it's just my imagination but, the cage drivers seem to be a little more courteous here in PGH since Ben's accident. They seem to be giving a bike a little more room and a couple have actually yielded to me!!! I expect the good will to last this week then it's back to 'open season'!!! Bret |

I'm not so sure Bret, Twice this past week going up Greentree Hill (out bound), cagers have (nearly) switched lanes right in front of me. Both times (luckily) they signaled first. It would be nice if they looked before they were half way into the lane. |
