I'm buying a low mileage (400 miles) 2003 xb9s in the state of Georgia next week and riding it back to Seattle Washington. Is there a list somewhere of Buell-friendly dealers in the US that anyone Knows of? any help would be appreciated. Thanks Pete |

Well, there is a list of Buell dealers if you go to the Buell site.....HOWEVER......that doesn't mean they are Buell friendly.....that would be a much shorter list. |

That's the way to do it! Trailers are for BOATS. Remember to drink a bottle of juice every time you stop for gas. |

One method to use when you go to Buell's dealer search function - check for dealers with BRAG groups. That is an excellent sign that the dealer is INTO Buells and not just into selling stuff. Setting up and supporting a BRAG club means they MUST put in some extra effort and that they are willing to meet their customers socially after they have made the sale. |

Stone Mountain HD in Atlanta is as Buell friendly as it gets. Cameron, (Clown),the general manager is a Buelligan, and all around swell fellow. They are sponsors, here is their URL: http://www.stonemountainhd.com/ You might want them to service the bike and check it out before you head west. Peter- You can go to the Rider Assistanc Network topic and list everyone in the states that you are going to be riding through. Or what a lot of guys have done is to have phone contacts with a couple of members. Then if you do (not very likely) have a problem, they can look up the member in that area to contact for you. Have a great trip and be safe. |

Thanks for all the great feedback. My wife thinks I'm nuts but I see it as an opportunity to get to know my new xb,and do some sightseeing. I'm also planning to ride the dragon tail in NC. The longest previous rides I've done were from Seattle to San francisco however I used to do those in one day. I'm shooting for about a week on this trip. |

I see it as an opportunity to get to know my new xb,and do some sightseeing. You can use it as an opportunity to meet some BadWebbers too. I've always found them to be good company. If you post a guesstimate of your route and times, you'll probably pick up some riding buddies. |

In Indiana, Buell of Bloomington and Eagle Buell in Lafayette are my preferred dealers. South Side Harley in Indianapolis is iffy. I've heard both good and bad about them. |

Have you figured out your route back to Seattle? Knowing a general route and what cities your passing thru would help. I know that I-40 and I-70 are major east/west routes and there are several friendly dealers not to far off either of those. Topeka KS and Stillwater OK both have good dealerships. |

With a week to ride you should be able to stay off of most of the interstates. Have fun, wear good gear and tell us how the trip went when you get back! |

This is a great forum! I'm a new member and this will be my first Buell. I have a rough idea of my route but am open to suggestions. I am planning on meeting some riding buddies in Missoula Mt on the 24th of June if possible. Leaving Albany Ga on the 2oth. I plan on heading north to Nc and ride the dragon, then west to connect with 70, head north from Denver, North to Cheyenne Wy, then west 80 to Rawlins, north 287 into Yellowstone, from there to Missoula Mt then 90 home to Seattle. Any ideas? |

Buell's website is a little slow to update on the dealers that carry Buell. Motor city Harley in Farmington Hills, MI is still listed on the website, not too long ago they were listed as a BRAG chapter, but they are out of the Buell business now. On the other side, Detroit Harley in centerline isn't in the latest BRAG road atlas - they are still on the website - but they're one of the few Detroit area dealers that still carry Buells. They even had a couple of buell parts out on the wall today. No clothes, though. |

Peter, if you stick to your tentative route you won't be anywhere near Wisconsin, but if you DO happen to detour up that way look up Dave Stueve at Appleton H-D/Buell, Appleton, WI. he and the dealership are as good as they come. Harley-Davidson/Buell of Appleton, 5322 Clairemont Dr., Appleton, WI 54913 920/757-1651, ask for Dave in Sales. if you stick to your route you WILL be going thru Topeka, KS. another SUPERB dealer is Topeka H-D/Buell. as a bonus, the KC-area Buellers are among the nicest and most enthusiastic people you'll ever meet. Topeka Harley-Davidson/Buell, 2047 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 785/234-6174. have fun, be safe, take pix, post them here when you get home, and ride to lean. I think that it would be nice to see coffee cups shot glasses and the like with BUELL on them I have yet to see anything like them. everything says Harley, I don't want Harley glasses, I WANT BUELL glasses. I think that someone should open a BUELL only dealership, with a track out back( one made for BUELLs) and then let the people w/ rice and pasta rockets try the track on thier rocket and then on a BUELL. YEAH like that will ever happen Right??? "MJ" |
