I would buy a XB14RR (Street version of a XBRR) Will that be the "Firebolt update" that everyone is hoping for in July? In the mean time I try to talk my lady into mortgaging our house so we can get a DucRR. Sweet ride, ducati says "200+ HP" on the street! |

You'll need to have already purchased a 999R drom a favored dealer and be a favored customer and put down a deposit and pay more than the value of the bike and agree to allow it to be used for photo shoots and... I'd still buy one if I could... |

That is a good way to jack up the perceived value of the rest of the Ducati line. Ducatis are already associated with being high dollar and that gives them a certain status, but it is really only a few models that cost more then the norm. |

"Buell doesn'thave a MotoGP bike". That's funny. Stupid. But funny. Do I need to put 2 and 2 together for you? |

So "Buell" and "motogp" are oxymorons? Well...that's too bad. We do need a street XBRR tho...We deserve IT! H-D is going all "big inch" variations. We should have the same opportunities as them. And to think, big inches with SHORT stroke, cool. They will. |

A few of us talked to Erik a little about the XBRR engine on Saturday. He said they haven't even begun really intense tuning of the engine (cams, etc) much less even thought about adapting it for the street. I'd say it will be a while before you see anything like it in the showroom. Please note, however, he didn't rule it out. After that conversation, it's clear to me that Erik is a HUGE fan of V-twins. To him there are many years of life left in the current engine. He is very optimistic about it. Of course, Erik is always optimistic. He's just one of those guys you like to be around. |

"That's funny. Stupid. But funny. Do I need to put 2 and 2 together for you?" What's funny, stupid, but funny is that you fail to see the ridiculousness in asking if Buell will follow Ducati. |

If buell has to follow Ducati. I personally hope they follow/compete with this.
DUCATI HYPERMOTARD A Buell Motard. I would be the first in line to buy one. Don't get me wrong I love the 12X but I would like something different. |

Some people here are very dense. Ok, let me spell it out for you...... WILL BUELL OFFER A STREET VERSION OF THEIR FX RACE BIKE LIKE DUCATI IS OFFERING A STREET VERSION OF THEIR MOTOGP BIKE? There. Now do you understand!? |

Ducati has had the desmosedici under development/test/racing for about what 5-years now that we have known about. Rumors of their V-4 bike were around much longer. The XBRR is still pretty new by comparison I'd imagine. I won't be surprised to see one sometime down the road that meets DOT/EPA requirements (not sure if the new Desmocedici can yet) - there's no indication that it meets European or US emissions (yet) - though I'm too lazy to suffer through a ton of searching in their website (Message edited by slaughter on June 05, 2006) |

It meets the current Euro emissions standards from what I hear at gizmag.com. |

Well - if it meets the Euro standards, all I gotta do is buy me a 999R (they can be found for less than $24K now) - and then come up with the $65K for the Desmocedici! Get me my checkbook!!! |

No, according to Henry Duga, there would be no market for a street version of the XBRR. This was echoed by Court and many others on this site. I just happen to disagree, that's all. BTW, I like the duck. jimidan |

The release of this model by Ducati opens up a whole new question regarding their eligibility for Moto GP with their current bike. Moto GP rules specifically state that the bikes must be prototypes and not based on an existing road bike engine. They reinforced this when they excluded the WCM for being based on an R1 Yamaha crankcase even though it was significantly altered. So how does this sit now that Ducati have a road going version of their Moto GP engine available? It can no longer be classified as a prototype surely? |

Jimidan, it seems a lot of Buell guys said in the past that a sport tour Buell wouldn't sell either. If the Uly is considered a sport tour, they were wrong. I tend to believe, the race on Sunday sell on Monday, works rather well. |

Per rules in 2006 - MotoGP is now 800cc. That motor is based on an OBSOLETE system. |

It's funny that I just posted a message asking about a GP derived V-4 about a week or two ago. Now I just have to wait for the 75-80% off sale at the Ducati dealership. |
