You know what I HATE about all the Sport DUC's? My ass is up in the air like the "new guy at the PRISON showers", never been comfortable on them, and I have ridden cross-country and cross-state countless times in my two ZX7's. DUC's are just uncomfortable to me. (Message edited by CURTYD on June 03, 2006) |

I dont care that it is uncomfortable. I dont care what it looks like. I want it. Part of me Needs it. 1 soul, slightly tarnished, $65,000. Firm. |

That exhaust exiting upwards through the rear plastics looks unreal. Can you imagine that motor at full song with the exhaust that close behind your helmet - heaven. http://www.ducati.com/docs_eng/model06/desmosedicirr/flash/d16_15.html |

Its a racebike people, cruising comfort was the furthest engineering hurdle they had to overcome. For those squidly, that is pure bling, for myself, it would be like a prize Ferarri to take out on sunny days and whoop the out of. I would love to have one. And comparing it to one of our Buells would be like comparing Fords idea of economical performance (Mustang for instance) against the latest from Porsche or BMW, their just apples and oranges. All said, ownership is dreaming, my house needs a new heater, the car needs new tires, the basement wall leaks when it rains, you get the idea. |

Since we are comparing Fords with Porsches/BEEMERS, what about the $140K GT? Amazing they actually produced that 550HP streetracer... "fill er up" pleez, DON'T CHECK ANYTHING, OK? (Message edited by CURTYD on June 04, 2006) |

The first thing I would do if I was a happy owner would be to ride it through a terrible rainstorm and show up to the local Ducati riding club on it dirty as can be. That would be fun. Unfortunately most of us will never see one ridden because most of the owners will be too busy wiping them with diapers full of polish in their garage. Silly purists. |

The way I figure, if you can afford to own it, you could afford to ride the sh** out of it. Now it's just a matter of will and ability. |

I work in Orange County, I bet I'll see one. Hopefully I can keep myself from a life of crime when I see some rich jerk out cruising it down the street with jeans and shoes on, stalling it at intersections. I can here the bike now, calling me "Shawn, ride me, Ride me Ride me I want to be RIDDEN"... |

Will they keep the weight at the MOTOGP under 300 lbs, or cut production costs and have it weigh in at closer to 400lbs? That would be a rip-off of 65K it it weighed the same as the current crop of superbikes. (Message edited by CURTYD on June 06, 2006) |

Don't anybody go comparing it to the current crop of superbikes because it's a DUCATI! Probably won't really be much better than any of the new litre-class bikes at 1/4 the cost But they're not a Ducati! (with twice the number of un-necessary desmo valves to adjust) |
