After a few laps at the track, I was having problems with my fuel tank vent hose which was making my engine sputter. I stalled twice and that really through off my concentration and my confidence. After clearing the problem, I went out for another session. Turn 3 was giving me trouble, but turn 6 I was hitting real fast. 3 is a really tight off camber turn at the end of a straight. 6 is a deep banking turn that you could pretty much hit at full speed. During this last session I did my breaking, downshifted, and hit turn 3 perfectly. Coming up on 6 I was hauling. I took the inside corner really tight, but then I found myself drifting towards the outside. Making a total rookie mistake, instead of pushing my inside grip, giving more throttle and looking past the turn, I straightened out and looked right where I was going. I went off the track and couldn't break in the gravel. My front tire washed out and I went down flat on my left side. I ended up breaking my right thumb, every thing else was pretty minor. My bike broke the clutch lever, bent handlebars, bent rearsets, broke shifter peg, and snapped the clutch cable. I also may have tacoed my front wheel, I have to get it checked. My leathers almost wore through on my left elbow, and I burned a hole in the palm of my left glove. My day was done by about 12:30. This sucks, but I popped my cherry. |

Glad you are ok for the most part. Crashing sucks. |
