I totally disagree with the whole "corporate pimp" slur as well as the definitions provided in previous posts. Webster defines a pimp as "a man who solicits clients for a prostitute." So, to call someone a corporate pimp, there has to be a corporate prostitute and clients. If EB is the pimp, who are the prostitutes? Does purchasing Buell products make us the Johns? It all sounds ridiculous to me. People should just leave the metaphors to those of us who know how to use them. |

ummm. 'lowflier': 'pimp' is also a term odf extreme endearment in modern lexicon. a 'pimped-out' ride is NOT a car or motorcycle which is utilized in the oldest profession, but merely one which has been augmented to the maximum possible apogee of customization. when someone receives any sort of grand fortune (not strictly monetary), his best friends and most ardent admirers will call him THE pimp. I am very proud to be called a pimp when lady luck shines my way. maybe you should aquaint yourself with more contemporary patoise before judging others. I refer you to Ice-T, in his hit single "it was a good day": I was glad everything had worked out Dropped her ass off, then I chirped out Today was like one of those fly dreams Didn't even see a berry flashing those high beams No helicopter looking for a murder Two in the morning got the fat burger Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp And it read Ice Cube's a pimp Drunk as hell but no throwing up Half way home and my pager still blowing up Today I didn't even have to use my A.K. I got to say it was a good day." |

"ummm. 'lowflier': 'pimp' is also a term odf extreme endearment in modern lexicon." Ummm...dude, I am a white guy. I have no use for modern lexicon (aka ebonics). I speak English. I refer you to Axl Rose in Guns & Roses' hit single "One in a Million": "...Immigrants and faggots They make no sense to me They come to our country And think they'll do as they please Like start some mini Iran, Or spread some disease They talk so many goddamn ways It's all Greek to me..." We can all learn from that one. |

Whoops...I can tell my little post about contemporary colloquialisms and the proper/improper usage did mean a rat's ass. Gosh to think the Chinese really eat those things. Yuck!!! I wonder if that is true or not. Perhaps I should look it up on Snopes.com. |

Let me get this straight and correct me if I'm wrong. A man and some of his closest friends start their dream. Just as they think it is coming to fruition the outfit that makes the rules changes them and they are back to almost square one. They still persevere but money and sleep time are in short supply. Along comes someone with big bucks, marketing skills and name recognition that can make your dream a reality. You bite. Now that dream is reaching fruition. A pimp? I don't think so. A smart business decision, I do! |

as I have maintained all along, Iamike- I admire the man.....very much, in fact. I think 'pimp' is connoting something far more negative to many buellers, here, than it was intended to. Now: a corporate wh*re is not a nice thing, at all. a corporate pimp, however, is something which conjures up admiration in my book, and lexicon. c'mon: "pimped-out" is a huge compliment... Tramp, get a handle on the language. Pimps use force and intimidation to seize and sell that which is not theirs and retain the proceeds. The prejudice I'm seeing here, that it's wrong to make money, is truly bizarre, but typical these days. What is wrong with this country's thinking, that now it is deemed immoral for an innovator to collect his rightful entitlement after years of tail-busting work, risking everything and almost losing it all? Erik is the Grand Buelligan of All Eternity. Without him, there would be zero Buelligans on this here mudball, and just 2 choices: imports and boat anchors. |

I think Eric should have stayed poor and not have been able to create his current crop of bikes. I am sure that by staying PURE, he would have been much happier. And we wouldn't have his bikes. Seems like a win win to me. Is it me or are the only guys who are pissed at corporate and personal success here in the USA the guys who don't have any of it for themselves? I think it is called jealousy. |

" what's really bizarre is your selective amnesia regarding the fact that I've posted, from post 1 regarding erik and pimpdom, that I ADMIRE the man. Nowhere did i even imply that it's inadmirable for him to profit from Buell. Instead of trying to twist your own little spin on it, why not open your mind? My point was that those whom did NOT profit from Buell should be nominated for buelligan of the year, over those who did. simple, really. doesn't make erik any less of a hero. i've maintained, all along, that i admire him for it. |
