That would be a KTM lump in there. Built by Jesse Rooke. |

Kinda does look like a board tracker for sure. Maybe even a little like a 1918 Indian 8 valve. From the description: "Although the bike has been run, its proper place is in a museum. Like the other board track bikes of its era, it lacks such amenities as brakes, a clutch, or even a throttle (carbs were run wide open, with the only control of the engine speed being an ignition cut-out). It's basically a deathtrap." Sounds like fun... Jack |

I saw this bike today at the Exile Cycles 10 year anniv. party. They started it up and that sucker flat WAILS! Sounds kinda like a cross between a Ducati, a Ferrari, with a bit of that old Vincent Black Shadow 'growl', but all with straight pipes! Way too loud for human consumption, but cool nonetheless. Saw some really nice bikes there, got a few photos, but none really good enough to post. (I saw one Buell there, wait--that was MINE - sorry, no Buells other than the one, that I saw, anyway) |

Jesse Rooke and Roland Sands are making the coolest customs right now. The racing influence shows. |

I'm a fan of Rooke's bike and Russell Mictchell's customs. My buddy is also to the point that he did his own but put a twist on it. Its a 2006 Fat Bob originally. It just got sold to someone in N Carolina two days ago. He'll be starting another in a very short time.

Bads1, Interesting ride, I finally spotted the clutch lever on the jockey shift but I haven't figured out the front brake yet. Is that on the foot pedal? With a proportioning valve for the rear brake maybe? Jack |

possibly twist clutch? I dig the American racing wheels too. Did not realize it was a single side swingarm before. |

Jack it has just the foot lever for the brakes with a master cylinder to control both front and rear brakes at the same time. It applies to the front just alittle more though. The brake system is a Wilwood sprint car system with vented Wilwood sprnt car disks. They have smaller pistons in them now so they wont be to strong for the bike.
Brian the single sided swingarm he fabbed himself. He also is using a V rod belt for its length,a Euro rear pulley so he isn't shifting from 1st to 2nd so quickly on the account of the jockey shifter,a buell pulley tensioner and a 05 rear shock setup from a R1 that he put a way stiffer spring on and ceramic coated it. It rides relatively very nice.

Kinda sweet seeing the brake setup from the other side of the wheel.

I hate to say it... but I really, really like that custom Fat Bob. I had the same style wheels on a Camaro in my wayward youth. |

I like it. It looks really solid. I want a set of those rims for my Dodge pickup so if anyone's got a set of 15x7or8 lying around I'll be pleased to pay the postage.... |

It suffers from what most HD customs do. It's to long. Throw away that seat hoop and the rear suspension. All chops should be rigid anyway , then it wouldn't need that long pole of a swing arm! Rocket |

Rocket the length was done purposly. Most customs the rear wheel is directly in back of you. This one stretched a bit so the front end doesn't have to be. The thing rides nice. He's starting another will be done by July 4th. |

The details are incredible on that Fat Bob. The bike is art - no custom has ever appealed to me before. The guy converted me! |

BadS1 - Man, that's beautiful. Way better than anything I've seen on those TV shows. What's up with the silver-looking stuff on the tires? And how much, if you don't mind my asking, did he sell it for? (Message edited by seanp on April 26, 2006) |
