"...the Buells were running clutches from Erion Racing...Erion Racing were screaming the loudest in protest to the XB's being allowed to run in Formula Extreme..." I was, to say the least, speechless... |

protests and the like are a large part of racing "strategy," much like many NASCAR races are won off the track (in the pits). Sadly, this include misinformation and deception as tools of race-winning this is one of the reasons I enjoy club racing so much ;-} Reep -- can you start a conspiracy about my getting a big fat raise this year? |

I would assume Erion use HRC slipper clutches on all their race bikes fitted with slipper clutches. I'd imagine all their race bikes fitted with non slipper clutches would run modified units probably using plates from a renowned manufacturer. Why Buell would look towards Erion for a clutch is beyond me. Do Erion make a clutch? I doubt that too. Could Erion make a clutch that Buell couldn't for themselves? I don't buy it. Not unless Buell, via Erion, have found a way to graft on an HRC clutch unit, and it works on a Buell application. Rocket |

I'm sorry. . . I've been busy. . . I see Buells won lots of races and stuffed more folks that you could barely get on podiums over the weekend. What trade organization did Honda withdraw from yesterday in protest? By the end of the season I predict Buell will have them storming out of the Torrance Chamber of Commerce and refusing to buy Girl Scout cookies. Quite nice |

I do sincerely hope that no one thinks I put any stock in the above 'claim of fact' as proposed by the seller of Buell motorcycles. I was indeed rather dumbstruck at the belief in his voice that what he spoke was the gospel truth and that the customer he was speaking to was of enough intelligence to understand that the claim was most likely fictitious. I say 'most likely' as stranger things have occurred. As a supplier of aftermarket clutches, there is a slim chance that Erion may have been the closest source to a 'kit' clutchpack of a specific make that happened to fit Buell's need. Possible, yes, likely, I doubt it very highly. Anyone have the number for 'Mythbusters' ? |

wyked nossir, I thought you meeant what you meant (what?) in my 5 years associating with Buells, I've found that few areas of human endevor are so chock full o legend and will o the whisps as the HD world -- could be because many HD riders know little of things motorcyclish outside of HD things? dunno . . . . intellectual incest is as bad as the other kind, I"m thinkin our lil subcontinent is refreshingly free of these myths, thankfully |

"Normal" is a state of mind, some minds reside in different States though. |

Just a quick mythbusting before returning to incestual discussions: Yes, Erion was screaming. No, they did not supply any parts for the XBRR. Good grief. Where did the H-D guy come up with that story?! |

Did you hear about the hillbilly that had his marriage annulled because his bride turned out to be a virgin? He said, "If she ain't good enough for her own people, she sure as hell ain't good enough for me!" Jack |
