My mechanic told me to add led octane booster-"marine use only" to supreme gas to stop the pinging-frome high compression (stock motor-4k mi.)Boy does it run better but its $$--2 oz. per gal.-20$ a quart. Is there an alternative-stupid but why can`t I just put a bag of led shot in the tank? |

you shouldn't need it in a stock motor with decent gas -- something else is causing the issue, I'm thinkin -- timing, plugs, carbon buildup inside (not likely w/4K miles), bad gas, but a stock mill should be fine on good pump gas |

M2 with around 9.8 to one compression should run just fine on pump gas. perhaps you have an intake seal leak, or ignition is running a little to much advance? |

His M2's have 10 to 1 comp. PLUS Lead additive to a stock bike may stop the pinging for a while but is a temp solution... 1 unless your bike has major mods you do not need additives or higher than 97 octane 2 adjust the timing and jetting via dyno and your bike should stop all signs of pinging |

My 11.5-1 x1 can run pump gas with one rider and no hills. But as I add a passanger or tackle mountains. I need to use lucas octane boost. for the stock motor. You need either different spark plugs, different jets, or retard the timing. |
