Bike: ’03 xb9r Battery: dead Owner: disgruntled This story actually starts on another thread where I asked a few questions about charging my battery. I went out and bought a battery charger, took it back to put it on the battery and found out I have another problem. One of the bolts that holds the seat on is stripped. The bolt goes into some sort of insert that is fixed to the subframe under the tail. Just like what you do with drywall screws to hang a painting, I think. Anyway this insert spins freely with the bolt and I can’t get the bolt out. Anyone have any ideas for me? |

I had the same problem with the center bolt for the rear tail section. I grabbed the bottom of the insert with a pair of pliers and then removed the bolt. I then glued it back down and used anti sieze on the bolt. Good luck. |

all i have had to do is pull up on the seat with alittle force while i was turning the bolt and they seem to come free. tend to thread right back in even though they are loose. been meaning to tack them in. |

Lift the seat corner and put a bead of 4 minute JB Weld around the insert and frame, have a cold one or two and remove Torx bolt. Cheers |
