Howdy All, I have heard that Vanson Leathers has a factory store and they have a sales/used rack. Has anyone found it was worth taking the trip? Thanks, Cheese |

Would this be in Fall River Mass? |

Yep, Fall River. Home of Lizzie Borden and her forty whacks... |

I'll be in Boston this summer attending a conference - but without transportation. Is there a railway or public transportation to get from Boston to Fall River economically? I'd like to go to the Vanson Store and buy a new jacket. Steve-O |

I bought a one-piece race suit there - about half price. It'd been a rental suit with Penguin Racing School for a season before it was turned back to Vanson for cleaning/refurb and was sold off their odds/used rack. Very worth the trip. Besides it's a pretty cool showroom with tons of drool-worthy gear. Every now and then they have shop events with BBQ, music, discounts and such as well. Check their website for dates. Henrik |

Definitely worth the trip - used, overstock, one-offs, and so on. I've gotten some fantastic deals there (I live an hour north of Fall River). One sale was "make an offer" - and they were *very* motivated to sell. Henrik is right - the factory is a cool place to see. As for public transportation, there aren't any easy options. Zipcar might be a cheap way to go if you'll be in metro Boston. I have to make one last pilgrimage before I relocate! |

Yes it is a big place and has lots on the shelves. It is a little out of the way...not sure if there is public transportation near there...never looked into that. But it is worth it to go. Hey stop and see the USS Massachusetts while in town! |

You can get to The Riv (Fall River) by bus from North Station. Not sure where the bus arrives though, or how often. |

Have shopped there many times. Almost always find Buell gear as well as things like Vanson jeans. The BBQs are an event in themselves. Not exactly a great ride road wise. |

You catch the bus at SOUTH Station, not North station. If you've never been to Vanson Leathers, you're in for a real experience. |

I know they were great to deal with at daytona getting leathers (non-vanson) repaired for cheap. Good people. |

I took my first demo ride on a BUELL at one of their openhouses. It was an M2. I remember looking down and seeing 100MPH and thinking: "A hundred? but that was so easy!" Perhaps this is the year that I get a real leather suit... |

i have 2 vanson jackets (both closeout prices from 2 different stores on womens sizes) and a pair of vanson riding pants (some poor schmuck selling off his ex's stuff on ebay). i REALLY like their stuff, but just havent been able to pony up the cash to buy new at retail for their stuff. i wish that i had the $$$ to buy a roadracing suit from them as i do think they are the best, i took a good spill in a rental one at penguin racing school and it really proved itself. oh well, one day, i'll get a vanson roadracing suit! in the meantime, i got a teknic women's venom suit (mine's actually a 2005 model and not shown here) - which should get it done for a while. http://www.teknicgear.com/catalog.php?styleid=1&pid=93 D |
