Reminds me of living in Key West. We used to soup up mopeds and 50cc scooters and ride just like that. I had a 75mph puch moped.......... We used to get hammered and romp through town sliding them all over the place. I have had a couple of similar dismounts. Unintentional of course. | ||

I was riding in traffic today on the TLR and an guy on a TEAL green scooter pulled up next to me and Rev'd the motor. I about fell over! He then winked and I ran the red light.... LOL, nah ... he did wink and I just told him he was number one in my book. The universal way of course. | ||

Believe it or not that is the movie that Taxi, with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Lateefa(sp), is based off of. The French version of Taxi. From what I heard it is a lot better, obviously. Kind of like Le Femme Nikita and Point of No Return. Never has been released in the U.S. though, not even on dvd. I think there are a couple sequels for it too. | ||

He's an idiot. OK, style points for the dismount. But his cornering technique sucks. He's leaning the scoot with body weight and keeping his body more vertical than the scoot's frame. And by taking his foot off the floorboard he's reducing the rig's stability. Near as I can tell he's using the frame scraping as a lean angle detector. Ghaaa. If the moron knew how to hang off and stabilize the frame under the resulting greater stresses he's pick up a lot more cornering speed. My guess is he's completely self taught. He's got natural talent and maybe reactions like a housecat, which is all that's saved him from his massive ignorance. So far. | ||

If you get a chance to see the original of TAXI, it's cracking!! I've got it on DVD (in French) (Amazon have it from $15) I found the hollywood remake very flat, but then I find nearly all hollywood remakes flat. For those on here too young to remember the originals, here's a couple more to check out, with amazing chase scenes; Gone in 60 seconds. (1974 version). try & get the original VHS copy not the "remastered" DVD. The original soundtrack is way better, even if it is in mono. The Italian Job, a Classic, with Michael Caine at his best, nuff said. Just bear in mind, when you watch them, the technology available for stunts & special effects in the '70s, compared to the remakes. I guarantee you'll be impressed. | ||
