Here's something I wanted to share with you guys on Badweb. As several among you already know, Erik play music and also manufacture guitars. A few month ago I received an email from Erik. After having seen the painting on my XB, he asked me whether I will be interested to paint a guitar for him. As you can guess, I was more than interested, it was an honor for me. The guitar was for his friend Mike Stone of Queensryche. After a few sketches, we agree on a design and this is how the guitar look now:
It was really a pleasure to do it for Erik. I never met him in person but we discussed a couples of times via email and he look like a really cool guy. Sylvain |

Stou - I've always been blow away by people who can sit down and paint something like that. To say it isn't one of my gifts is a huge understatement. That thing looks great. |

So when you got the e-mail from Erik did you think at first that someone was busting your balls or something? I would have never believed it |

Stou, You may become a bit of a legend yourself doing work like that! Those are the nicest flames I have EVER seen. Do you do paint for a living or a hobby? |

Stou, You may become a bit of a legend yourself doing work like that! Those are the nicest flames I have EVER seen. I will second that, and I have been around hot rods, and bikes my whole life(not that that is a considerable amount of time, but you get the drift)... Man, if you arent 'brushing for a living...you could be making a killer amount of money...and if you are doing it for money, you should be making a killer living.. as Court said, its art... Chase} |

Skyguy and Chasespeed, I don't paint for a living. It started as a hobby more than 10 years ago, and it became a second job after a couples of years. My main job is Team manager in a technical team who do program debugging on main frame computer and web systems in a financial institution. Nothing to do with painting. I work for this company since 20 years (I'm 46) and I will retire in less than 10 years. After my retirement, I will probably do only custom painting. |

The Fireblasting Thundercaster? That thing ROCKS and it ain't even a whole guitar yet! Wow. Everytime Stou posts some of his artwork, be it on helmets or whatever, it blows folks away. Way to go Stou! You've done it again. You've improved what was already a work of art. When will we see these in our local high-end music stores? |

Skyguy, that's what I do to buy my toys like my XB! Blake, I don't know if Erik plan to do the same thing with guitars that he did with motorcycle. Yamaha watch out! here's the new Buell guitars! |

I doubt they'd be in my price range, but if they were I'd certainly buy one. |

I can hear it now..... Yamaha Guitars President To protest Buell! Buell guitars break traditional design specs. They are designed outside of traditional models and do not comply with international standards. Should the Guitar Center chain of stores choose to carry the Buell line we will pull all of our products and support in protest. Our attorneys are diligently looking to file a case against BMC for reasons of "Non Compliance of Tradition". Is Erik Buell not aware that this is OUR market? |

New album comes out in a few weeks ya know.. Mindcrime II comes out 4/4/06. I posted a thread about it a few weeks back. I'll snag this one, the first day it hits the shelves. Anyone thats a prog hard rock/metal fan should also check out some of the latest offerings by Opeth, Derek Sherinian, Devin Townsend, or Kings X (Ogre Tones is the latest one, and its fantastic). |

That is a kick-Azz paint job, something to be proud of for sure. As everyone knows Erik is a man of many talents, last year he came to the Stone Mountain Buell/H-D Demo rides in Suches, Ga. and a few guys in our group(3%ers) brought their Guitars and they all jammed for a bit. |
