All, 61 years ago today, barring any International date line issues, Our forces landed on the hotly contested island of Iwo Jima. During that battle, a photo was taken of a handful of men, all gone now, which lives on in Bronze at Arlington. It is a symbol of who we are, and of who we were. I dare say most who were there are also gone now, so it is up to us to remember. I always will. Semper Fi to our fallen Heroes. I was not a Marine, but I do understand. |
