"Which guy that beat Bush? Gore or Kerry?" A fine example of the inability to distinguish fact from fantasy! |

Entirely correct is not what one is when one makes a generalization; regardless of which side of this argument one is on. I was also not entirely correct in assuming the message that I was not condemning all scientific studies would be interpreted according to my intent. Thanks for clearing me up anyway. |

Low -- of course scientific studies reverse themsleves -- as we learn more, our understanding increases, and we (sometimes, anyways) leave behind our previously held beliefs -- lots of examples of this (round vs flat earthers, those who don't believe medication controls symptoms and causes of illnesses) -- it boils down to an anlysis of cause and effect -- I'll be the first to admit I understand very very little of most of the scientific research being performed (will never ever reach my goal of being a modern Renaissance person, there's just to much to know), but I willingly take medication, get on aircraft, and believe that is I push the majik button, the TV will go off "makes no sense to me (is bullshit)" spoke, perhaps, a bit more eloguently than you might have desired? insert smiley here ;-} Court - ditto on Bell and the telephone, the Wrights and the aeroplane, the list goes on and on -- propinquity rules, yes? we'll build an all american amusment park there |

I'll find the article and post it somewhere. I want everyone to be as skeptical as I am.

Lastly, a debate is only as intelligent as the dumbest participant. That's 100% correct in my opinion, I don't care how smart a person is, if they're arguing with the wrong person they'll argue till they're blue in the face and still never win !! Oh, and coffee is good for you now too. I don't know much about research, but I've been reading the same thing now about coffee being good for you again, hurrah !!!! I drank it when it was bad for me, but now I can enjoy it and do something good for me too !! |

As a person who, headed to San Diego from a day of testing in the Anza-Borrego area on S-2, took a left and soon arrived in Arizona. . . . I ALWAYS reserve the right to reverse myself. Few are as poor navigators, wrong as often or misguided as I. To me it's an essential cherished right!

I believe even the dumbest person could see your point of view if they were looking down the barrel of a large caliber firearm |

Sounds much to much like Plato to me! Yes, reading 'The Argument" then asked of my thoughts. God, that was a long time ago! Like I said then and what I say now. HUH? |

I believe even the dumbest person could see your point of view if they were looking down the barrel of a large caliber firearm Actually, in that case, it depends entirely on their point of view. |

Ahhh, well... you almost got it. I think we just validated some earlier suggestions. (One of which was mine, regarding being poorly written. I should have used "the dumbest person's" in place of "their.") |
