I am looking to purchase an '02 M2 and have pro series race kit for a 99/00. Is any of the kit useable on the '02? Please help! |

Why not the ignition? All M2's are carb'd. -Mike |

So everything but the ignition module will work? What is different about the ignition on the newer models? |

not sure that the module changed (no data ata ll on that point), but you can run the kit without the module, and loose little if anything . . . . . exhaust and intake will work fine wiht the stock module |

Doesn't the module give you a higher rpm ceiling? I think it says 6800rpm in the brochure. How much is that above stock? |

Not more revs, but a different curve. More power in the middle range. In 2001 the stock and race ignition modules changed from the more Sportster or Scratching Chicken related kind, to the X1 related, incl. the POP operation. The plug connectors of the 99 ignition module do not fit. The earlier module will not work. The later bikes use a different wiring harness than the 2000 model. The '01 and '02 had something added to the module that I can't recall exactly - I think it may have been the skip-spark feature, but my memory is a bit fuzzy on the details. |

It was a rear cylinder heat sensor. It fed the skip spark thing mentioned above. Yes, I need a race module if the price is right! Brad |
