Read about that one in the paper this morning. A very sad thing for all involved. |

Mostly sad for the 16 year old girl. she will have to live with that for a long time. Might even cause her emotional problems. I had a good friend who had a real hard time dealing with a biker dying on his hood after running wide in a turn. He would often wonder if he did something wrong. Sorry if I don't have any sympathy for the rider but it was unfair of him to put her life at risk. Not to say I don't ride fast because I do. At the proper time and in the proper place. That squid was probally in a school zone from the sound of it. |

I've only popped three wheelies in my lifetime.. and only one was on purpose. IMO 4 wheels is safer than two wheels and two wheels is safer than one wheel.. In a perfect world and a perfect settings. A wheelie could be done safe. |

It does sound like a foolish death doesnt it? The article also reminded me of that video on big-boys.com of a guy wheeling naked, then crashing... I've wheelied once on the XB.. not on purpose... |

I reckon it doesn't matter to the press that the wheelie was not a factor in the crash. Lucky for them, he did the wheelie. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a story. Sad indeed. |

Well, I read that as being somewhat vague. Was he wheelie-ing when he crashed into her or was he already down from the wheelie when he hit? Doesn't really say. |

Yeap, just because she didn't seem him was the sole reason he was speeding! He acted foolish as we tend to do from time to time, motorcyclists. We forget that we are NEVER seen, unless the police want us 19 yrs old and a fast cycle, well that is when I got my first motorcycle and it was fast, though I had a healthy fear at times. |

A motorcycle by definition is a high performance vehicle. power to weight ratio is far greater than nearly any other mode of transportation. It is always a sad day when another rider meets his end. It's too bad the media is sensationalizing it. |
