Bribed by the promise of a free t-shirt, I laid out 12 big ones to get in to the Minneapolis IMS today. Actually it was $13 because I forgot my handicap parking permit and had to feed the parking meeter 4 quarters for 2 hours parking. Yes, BuellGrrrl is really that cheap! I was rewarded with a chance to sit on a Uly with the low seat (I can almost flat foot it) and a cool Buell t-shirt. The two finger sign for "cops" on it and the "hell." caption have meaning for this old truck driver... Heck, if they keep this up and manage to make parts and service available in most of the civilized (and uncivilized) world I may break the piggy bank and spring for a new Buell in a few years. Oh, there were other bikes there too- Harley even had brought a sidecar hooked to a FLHT but the $6000+ price and 1930s design were a downer. Over at the Victory display a factory engineer 'fessed up to the existance of not just the previously outed one but several sidecars attached to the factory fleet... you hear that East Troy?- better get a sidecar ready 'cause Victory's Motorvation chair will outhandle a solo FLHT, never mind one with Harley's 1930's hack! |

Um...take a closer look at that T-Shirt. It says "Hello", not "Hell"! |

BoomerM2, his wife, myself and my wife made the scene yesterday. We ran into several BadWebbers including Nils Johnson of St. Paul H.D. who handed out the Buell t-shirts. Also got a chance to talk to two factory guys who were working the booth. My wife was ticked because when she re-upped her HOG membership they were not giving anything out, just the Buell guys Lots of great bikes there but I was disappointed that Triumph wasn't there, I wanted to check out the new 675. |

Gearhead, It was great meeting you on Saturday! I was a bit dissapointed they didn't have an RR there. Also dissapointed in the lack of accessory vendors. I was looking to buy new boots, not much to choose from. Road Gear was there, they have some very well made bags and such. I was able to renew my MCN subscritpion for half price and get a neat map and map book for my AMA renewal. I was impressed with the crowd at the URAL booth. I'm very tempted to pick up one.. I thnk they would be a hoot! |

Motoprimo had I think one Triumph in their display, sad to see Triumph missing. Given how pricy the show is (rent for 1 of the 2 sections the show used goes for over $100,000 for a 3 day weekend) I'm not surprised some are skipping the show. Heck, if I were Triumph I'd park a display trailer across the street for the weekend and just feed the parking meters! I was impressed by Ural too, excellent display for a low volume brand. I considered becoming a Ural dealer for a while- all they require is you buy 2 machines and go to their short service school... But I'm too lazy to do that much work! |

It was a good place to do some shopping for me! I was in the market for a new lid and figured I'd have a lot to choose from and came home with this one! I'll miss my Shark but it's got a few chips and cracks in it and the cost for new visors is now through the roof! |
