Congratulations indeed, Blake. And Congatulations to you, Steve Shakeshaft. The Brit Buell community is second to none. I know, I've seen the pictures. Great minds think alike. |

It's funny to think back as I cannot actually remember the first time I came to Badweb.Seems like it's always been here. I met Ferris at the first Blue Groove in the Santa Cruz hills put on by Reg Kittrelle, must have been 1996? Then went to Ferris's Blue Groove Northwest.Next thing ya know I am heading across the US by way of the Southwest Regional Buell Rally in Taos NM,and onward to North Carolina where I met 2 guys who would become some of the finest friends you can imagine,JB2 and Henrick---I let them both try out my S-2 for parts of our rides along the Blue Ridge and like to think it was my bad influence that made them both buy S-2's shortly thererafter.Heck,Jim bought his on the way home. Oh,and I blame Ferris for everything---- and he can send me my CD of Tommy Castro anytime--- |

Yep, it's Ferris' fault, IFF for short? I still have the T-Shirt to prove it too. Y'all are going to have me firing up the old pentium 133 to recover some of the old archives. Lot's of good stuff from back then. Newf, I only cut and paste from the server stats. You'll have to stage a coup, or a revolt, or something. |

Happy Birthday Badweb! I ain't feeling any younger myself . . . I recall, following my 3rd trip to the Northeast for Buell, getting a call from a Buell interested Ferris! Those times were interesting in that a good deal of the Buell activity was on the West Coast, yet Topeka and Latus were the only dealers to receive the Pegasus Award. Badweb has also well surpassed the predecessor Buell boards and I feel very fortunate to have made such good friends in so many countries! Happy Birthday Badweb! |

I feel very fortunate to have made such good friends in so many countries! I will second that, since late 1998 I have been lurking around here. I have met so many new friends hell I talk more regulay to people on the other side of the world than I do mates who live 25 min away. An ill behaving Buell purchased in Oct 1998 has changed my life more than one could ever think is possible. Happy birfday Badweb and tanks for all the memories. Where will the next 8 years take us who knows, but it's a ride I will not miss for all the furniture in China. |

blame credit where blame credit is due. this is all ERIK'S fault. first and foremost, anyway. NONE of us would be here if it wasn't for Erik Buell and his band of merry Elves up in East Troy. it's Erik's fault that he ever built an Ice White Pearl Thunderbolt S2 with my name on it, that glistened like a 1203-carat diamond in the sun and growled and prowled this continent's highways and canyons like an albino cheetah on steroids. first and foremost, it's Erik's fault. Court, YOU never shoulda picked up your phone when i called. and you CERTAINLY didn't have to be so darned corn-fed enthusiastic about Buells and Buellers. nope, you had to spend a good hour on phone with this simple little country boy from the Northwest talking of good times, of Buell times. and had you not invited me and Jeremy Ricker to show up at the first Blue Groove a day early so we could meet and greet Erik when he stepped off the plane, had we not had a chance later that day to slice and dice the goat trails above Scotts Valley chasing down Erik and Reg Kittrelle, had you not...well...you get the idea. i've said many times over the ensuing years that this is all YOUR fault. time has seasoned me a bit, but i still think there's some truth in the above statement. some blame also lies in the twisted minds of the 120+ people who showed up for Blue Groove/Northwest in '97. none of you HAD to be there. this is your fault, too. FMJ, shame on you, too. you got nothing better to do than to escort me across the country to the first BRATPAC rally? (btw, if - and i repeat IF - i return your Tommy Castro CD, can i again be your friend, too?) JB2, don't think YOU'RE gonna get outta here unscathed. i happen to mention in Sportbike USA something about MAYBE riding the Blue Ridge Parkway sometime, and a week later a 30-pound box shows up on my doorstep, from you, with maps, notes, books, photo albums, and more passion and enthusiasm for the BRP than is healthy or rational. BRATPAC came of that, along with a friendship that borders on blood. "Out of Words" was unforgettable, my friend. i'm thinkin' BRATPAC II will be more of the same. Blake, this really is all YOUR fault, ya know. yeah, yeah, you're gonna say that i had a hand in all this Bad Weather Bikers mess, but YOU are the driver. i'm just the little voice in your ear that keeps saying how good it feels. i could go on (and WILL, given half a chance), but having purged my spleen a bit maybe i can get my sorry arse back to work and stop thinking about where Buells have taken me in the last ten years. March 23rd, 2006 - along with being Ma Bueller's 83rd birthday -- also marks the 10-year anniversary of purchasing my beloved BLURR, and the beginning of an amazing journey that still continues to this day. thank you to everyone who has ridden a leg along the way. thank you to Blake for not only creating, but MAINTAINING, Bad Weather Bikers. you, sir, deserve all the credit in the world. thank you to Court. your particular breed of insanity has rubbed off on folks from around the world, and the stuff that rubbed off on me i can't get rid of. and don't want to. but first and foremost, this is all Erik's fault. don't any of you forget that. ride to lean, y'all. Hah, speaking of who's fault ... when I picked up my stunning, black 1998 S3T in the spring of 1998 I was first greeted by the local PACBOG rep, Mike, and I promptly joined and got my first glimpse of the Buell enthusiasm that's Ferris Bueller. Later on we had a "kick tires and eat pizza" when a Buell notoriety, Mr. Court Canfield, made an appearance at Lombardi's HD & Buell on Staten Island. And from then on I was hooked. Through PACBOG I got in touch with a Jim Bantz (JB2) who supposedly was the expert on touring the Blue Ridge. I'd expected an email with a few notes on roads and places to see, but after a 2 hour+ phone conversation, Jim still went ahead and sent me a "care package" with maps, photos, guide books etc. etc. Thus laying the foundation for my first tour on the Buell and a fantastic trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Later, on BRATPAC where JB2, his dad and friends graciously invited me in as a long lost friend, and treated me to yet another adventure of fantastic NC roads and warm friendship. Meeting up with the 2 nuts from the West Coast was just icing on the cake. Thanks guys. As to who to blame? Well, I say blame the Fireman for making me buy an S2. Blame Blake for my spending way too much time on Badweb As for the rest; let's just blame Ferris Well, OK, I guess Erik has to take his share as well. Thank you all for the ride. Henrik |

Wow, eight years.... When i bought my S1W in 98, my wife was 8 months pregnant with my little one. I can't beleive that 8 years have passed so quickly. I may have aged some during that time, but damn, to tell you the truth, the S1 is aging better than me. It still looks sharp as hell. Happy Birthday BWB! |
