I have a 97 S3. Doses a seat from any other year/model fit it? There's a Corbin seat on eBay that says 97-98 but the front comes to a point as it goes up the tank instead of wrapping around the sides. I'm kinda new to Buells and just learning

All S3 seats are interchangeable. The early S3 seats were lower and came to a point, like a wider bicycle seat. On a long ride, (over 400 miles/day)they became instruments of torture. In '99, Buell came out with the newer seat, which extended forward over the sides of the fuel tank, and had more padding. It was a godsend. The Corbin seat was designed in '97 as an improvement to the original seat, but it moved the rider's butt back, leaving less room for a passenger.
From the sound of it, you have the most comfortable seat of the three.

Like Crusty said. The early seats do take a flat locking bar where the later ones have a bend in the tip. I ran an early version of the Corbin on my '99 S3 for a while without a lock bar in place

while on the seat subject: The 01 cyclone I picked up last spring, the tabs where the bolt grabs onto the seat keep getting pushed open by the bolt and the seat is constantly getting loose.
Anyone know of a good fix for this?

...the way Buell came up with to attach the seat pisses me off! ,they definately cut the corner on this one.
