Sorry I let the original slip into the archives so here is the latest again: I thought I would bump this back to the top since Court is getting the schedule all pulled together this weekend and I need to make one thing clear: THE BBQ IS OPEN TO EVERYONE! I have had several ask if it was ok to come over even if they weren't staying at the house. YES YES YES!! Again: BBQ will be on Friday and Saturday! Can you imagine all the stories to be told after the race?? We also have a dear and trusted friend of ours who has offered room at her house for any "spillover" we may have from our house! I will make an "Official" post with all the details on the cookouts (directions, etc)before the first of February. It is shaping up to be HUGE! My airline is throwing in some beer, sodas, and picnic supplies and some of the other Florida Buellers have been assisting as well. The best way to put it is that this is NOT my BBQ weekend... it is the BUELLER'S BBQ! All I am doing is setting up the place and volunteering my wife as the mistress of the BBQ. |

VegasBueller - how generous of you and your wife to open your home and host a BBQ where fellow Buellers can meet and hang out. My husband (M2nc) and several others from NC are heading your way. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your wife for the generosity being offered to all Buellers. Should be a fun week! I know our "crowd" is looking forward to Daytona. Kristi |

Kristi: Super! We look forward to meeting you all. You are so very welcome!! This started out with me telling my wife.. "hey ,lets have a bike week cookout". Well, now we have Court involved, guys like scooteroid, and FTD, as well as some of the Lakeland BRAG, and it just keeps getting bigger. I have been out talking to neighbors about parking, cleaning out the garage, etc, etc. It is shaping up to be one heck of a good time. |

Someone asked if we could use anything for the BBQ. So here is a short list if anyone wants to bring something: folding chairs folding tables cups plates chips dip Basically..anything you want to offer wont be refused. So far we will be supplying: "Bubba Burgers" (Yes there really is such a thing) Brats The required sides to go with the above Dessert items Beer Soda (any suggestions on what kinds of Soda?) Any non-pepsi drinkers?? If you want to bring a particular item to grill...by all means please do. We are getting enough charcoal to keep that monster running all week long! |

Do you need some people to pick stuff up? I'll be riding up so space is limited on the bike until Buell makes hard bags for it (Not holding breath.) (Message edited by cataract2 on January 27, 2006) |

Pepsi it is! Now if everyone that drinks beer can settle on good old Budweiser! we went today and bought all the plates, cups, table cloths, and plasticware so you can take that off the list. Cataract: as far as picking anything up....many of the guys are riding in too, so if nothing else we can make some store runs before/during the picnic. I am in no way asking/begging here but some folks have sent a few dollars and we are using that to make sure we have plenty of food for everyone. I'd say coolers would be a big help. I have access to a big ice machine at work so that is no issue. Ken.. you have no idea man! My wife says I look like a big 12 year old today... I am about as wound up as it gets! It gets better with each email and phone call. With the unveiling of the RR, and the chance for this many of us to get together away from some commercial establishment and just dine, chat and have a good time, it is truly unbelieveable! |

Vegasbueller -- for those riding in and planning to make a monetary donation, would you prefer that we send it now to help with expenses or give it to you when they get there? If now would be better, drop me an e-mail with your address, etc and I'll drop a check in the mail. Thanks again, Kristi |

Damn I'm jealous, wish I could make it, but I've got too many other vacations planned this year & my very understanding darling would strangle me. You all have a great time. I can personally attest to the generosity of the BadWeB crew. I'll see some of you later in the year. |

This will be my first "vacation" in almost three years with the exception of the two weeks that I took off for the move from Las Vegas! I couldn't think of a better way to spend it. I am sure we'll get the chance some day...hwo about homecoming? |

Vegas - I just took care of the plane, car & hotel thing. Arriving DAB Friday morning the 10th on CO811 10:47AM. Hertz Mid size car. Staying on Lake Mary - Palms Island Resort & Marina Friday & Saturday night. The place looks a bit iffy but its kind of close to your house. The wife & I are staying until Wednesday for a short vacation after bike week. I haven't booked any place for Sunday to Wednesday yet. I'm looking for something quiet away from Daytona but on the beach. |

Awesome Jersey! You might try searching in New Smyrna Beach. That is the very quiet area. It is where I go about twice a week just to walk the beach and there are areas there where you can watch the Dolphins swim. You can go there and be the only person on the beach some days! |

Alex, beats being the oldest guy there--like Court!!! No age restrictions with Buell ownership. What am awesome sounding time!! I am (almost) sorry I will be in Australia at that time. But Paul,Ross, and I should be back from the salt and glued to the tube.So you all have an epic time and take some movies of Court in action. |

I made peace with the neighbors today! That adds lots more parking room. I have some 2X6's left over from some of the remodeling. I was thinking about hacking them up and making kick stand pucks out of them. I also thought of giving the local motor cops a call and offer an invite. Any thoughts on that? |

Hey 892... Don't sweat it! These incredibly gracious folks on this site are THE reason I'm finally going to Daytona for the first time. The 4 Buells in the race are langiappe. (a little sumptin' extra) You be the youngster, I'm the old fart virgin! |

Hey 892. I'm 23 and I'll be there, so don't feel so left out, assuming I'm not in boot camp at that time. Join in on the fun. (Message edited by cataract2 on January 28, 2006) |

I also thought of giving the local motor cops a call and offer an invite. Any thoughts on that? More the merrier. Besides, if we get in good with the locals that will turn out better for us Buell owners in the long run. |

892, dunno which one yet. Toss up between the Army or Air Force. Kinda leaning towards Army a bit more because they're waving a ton of bonus money in my face. Believe me, I know from others that boot camp isn't fun. My brother is in the Navy so I got lot's of fun stories from him. His future father in law was an Army drill instructor if I want ever more stories. I sent you an e-mail with some questions about the Army. Dunno if you got it. |

892: I think you will also find that service men from all branches hold a dear place among many of the BadWeb community. Patriotism runs pretty high here! Cataract: I think it depends more on what you want your MOS to be as to where you might go. Go Army...be a helo driver man! |

Cataract...Make boot camp easy on yourself by starting an intensive exercise program before you go in. Stamina is (er...was) the key to success in basics along with a positive mental attitude. Sort of makes all the screaming and yelling (read: discipline) insignificant when you are physically prepared for what the other "Little Green F'rs" perceive as abuse. Also can land you a leadership position that will make life, promotions and success in your desired MOS easier to obtain. |

also look up PT scores for your age group. See where you need to be for army standards in the three events: pushups, situps, and 2 mile run. You should be scoring around 85 in each event, that will make your life much easier. And... if you are cool and get a 300 total, you get a nifty PT badge to wear on your PT uniform! |

892, last 2 years I've flown over from France & some kind fool/soul* has lent me a ride, & I've been one of the oldest, chronologically speaking. Age is in your head man, don't sweat it, BadWeB crew are cool at any age. |
