The DFW Buell riders group received a very special guest for dinner on Monday night 1/23/2006. We ate, drank and became very merry as Erik, Henry Duga and Mr. Pres of Buell (Jon Flickinger) filled us in on the NEW XBRR race bike and hung out asking questions. I know its not nice to brag (no pun intended), but "We got to meet and hang out with the Father of our bikes, MAN!" Here is a little LOW RES teaser of the crew at "Up in Smoke" right here in Dallas (aka Keller, TX). The full size will be posted shortly on my pbase sight. Enjoy!

Poor Kevin couldn't go use the restroom all night. Last year that's how he missed out on being in the picture. |

This thing was so much fun that I couldn't believe it. I can not wait to see the XBRR race in Daytona.

Here is a picture of me with Dan Hurda, Buell's Lead Powertrain Engineer. This was a great moment for me.

I caught Dave Stueve eating his favorite vegetable with the digital cam. He loves that okra. By the way, big thanks to Dave for bringing me parts all the way down from Wisconsin. (Message edited by chadleys1 on January 25, 2006) |

This is the highlight of 2006 for me so far. I somehow talked Erik Buell into doing the wonder twin power salute with me for the camera. Maybe I should have put that schooner of beer down. He was a very good sport, as I didn't realize I looked so crazy. haha

Heck, we've got okra out the wazoo down here in coastal SC. Dave, how many pounds of ocra would a new XB12X set me back? |

If okra is any part of the deal I will be forced to charge you extra. I did bet Odinbuller to try a piece. He agreed, fried snot. |

I distinctly remember an incident when I was 5 or 6 years old and my parents were trying to get me to eat some. I wanted to know what the heck "okra" was, and my Dad thought he'd be clever. He told me it was a little critter they caught in traps and then fried up. I remember taking one big bite and then hurling on the kitchen floor shortly afterwards. That was the last time he tried that tactic... |

It's an acquired taste... and only edible when you fry it's brains out or boil it in gumbo. |

"...and a good time was had by all!" It was great to meet our Buell Brothers from Austin! Thanks for driving up - we'll reciprocate this spring with a BIG ride in your neck of the woods. Erik - as always - was just a cool guy to talk to. No wonder we're all enthused by his bikes - he bred 'em to be fun! BTW - In spite of the nay-sayers, okra (fried or pickled, not boiled or stewed) is a gift from God. |

--" said its not that bad raw ". If that's the best he can say in it's favor it must be really horrid.Never had the inclination to try it and never will. |

It's been hypothesized that eating okra regularly will make your drag coefficient drop by like 10%. |

It's also been hypothesized that eating okra will leave you single and friendless. |

Daves, Fried is not so bad. You should try boiled okra. It goes down like a soft stool comes out. If you ever eat it, my analogy won't sound quite so crude. Growing up in Texas, I used to cry when my mom or grandmother made it. I married a California woman just because she had never heard of okra. |

David, yea that was me. I made sure to be around for the pic taking. They said short people in front so... Sure was funny after the meal seeing a full bowl of fried okra where Daves had been sitting. As for the okra, don't be afraid, okra, zucchini, dill pickle slices, roll'em in corn meal and fry'em, mmmmmmmmmmmmm... Chadley, yea Dan was an interesting character, among many others... Kevin |
