I don't know if anyone has been watching the Barrett Jackson car auction this week, but last night was incredible! The rarest of rare muscle cars, exotics, hot rods...you name it, were being sold at unreal dollar amounts! Here's a pic of the record breaking bus that sold last night for...4.1 million dollars! Where do people get that kind of money????

That is insane for that thing. There is one that is always parked on the street behind Casa De Cadillac in Sherman Oaks. I didn't really know what it was until I saw a program on the History Channel, they were part of a caravan in the 30s put on my GM. From what I remember the side opened up on each bus to reveal a stage about the future. I could be wrong though it was a few years ago. |

The same guy that was high bidder for the Bus was the same guy that bought the 3 million dollar concept car last year. My personal fav was the lime green Hemi 'Cuda convertible for 2 million. |

I was listening to the "car show" on the radio yesterday while driving to a job, and they said that there was a big problem at the airport that is in the Scottsdale area - there was no more room available to park any more of the auction attendee's private jets! Poor Babies! I gotta say, though, most of those vehicles in the auction, even with the crazy prices, are REALLY nice! I'm looking a bit green, from envy. AL |

Yo - Brian I'm in So Cal, too. Let's take Tim's advice and go get that bus! (I kinda remember seeing it once when I was in that area) If nothing else, it'd make the hippest bike hauler, ever. Let's go halves on it - I got nuthin'. can you match that? AL |

Yeah, I saw a 1970 Hemi 'Cuda with 61 original miles advertised for ~$590,000 in the car trader. Went to the Motor Trend car show this weekend, saw several cars in the $80,000 range. My wife liked the $93,000 Jaguar the best... Sometimes I think I must be missing out. I liked the Dodge Power Wagon, sticker of $38,000. http://myweb.wvnet.edu/~gsg02860/AutoShow/2006auto.htm Bill |
