i have a snap on bike lift that has a front wheel clamp. i am in need of a old scissor jack to slide underneath my bikes to elevate the rear. i have a rear wheel stand for the buell but i am going to need to aquire a scissor jack to change my rear suspension and rear wheel on my 'glide. i must have owned 10 of these things in my life and i cant remember what cars they came out of? toyota? anyone want to part with one? will pay fair price.

Most auto parts places also will car them.

Get a small hydraulic jack,

Thats what I use.

Newfie, you should know better.

If it's a quality scissor jack you need, look no further than the Sabb 99 / 900 type from the 70's through to 1994 models.

Nothing in a Japanese cars tool kit comes close. Saab's jack is tough and doesn't wobble when extended. It also has the benefit of having a nice flat saddle about the size of a cig packet.

The 240 and 740 Volvos also have scissor jacks. Must be a Swedish thing.
