Ok people... I know it is early, but this whole deal is going to take some planning. We are going to host a BBQ on Friday, March 10th, and Saturday March 11. Times are yet to be determined, based on race schedules, weather etc. We also have sleeping space for around 12 people if you don't mind bringing your own sleeping bag, etc. Maybe by March the pool will be warm enough to swim in too. My wife and I have pretty much planned on the place being abuzz for bike week (and before). There is also no rule that the weekend is the only time we can cook out. If you want to fire up the grill, have at it! My wife says the biggest rule is that you all must be housebroken, and no chewing on the furniture! We have some parking space for a bike trailer or two. (Jersey already has spoken up for a spot) We also have a garage (just in case we have to work on something) From our house to the track is about 20 minutes or so. We live just a few miles off of I-4 so from there it is almost a straight shot. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to: vegas_bueller@yahoo.com Let me know if you will be at either or both cookouts, staying over, need parking space, etc. Also, if you are able to offer anything for the cookouts that would be fine too. Chairs, a table, beer, whatever. (This isn't a requirement by the way) When you RSVP, I will send directions to the house and answer any other questions you may have. Hope to see you all here! We are up to about 6 folks right now that will be staying at various times. I haven't seen a lot of votes for the BBQ. I will try to keep this bumped to the top so we don't miss anyone. |

I thought I would bump this back to the top since Court is getting the schedule all pulled together this weekend and I need to make one thing clear: THE BBQ IS OPEN TO EVERYONE! I have had several ask if it was ok to come over even if they weren't staying at the house. YES YES YES!! Again: BBQ will be on Friday and Saturday! Can you imagine all the stories to be told after the race?? We also have a dear and trusted friend of ours who has offered room at her house for any "spillover" we may have from our house! I will make an "Official" post with all the details on the cookouts before the first of February. It is shaping up to be HUGE! My airline is throwing in some beer, sodas, and picnic supplies and some of the other Florida Buellers have been assisting as well. The best way to put it is that this is NOT my BBQ weekend... it is the BUELLER'S BBQ! All I am doing is setting up the place and volunteering my wife as the mistress of the BBQ. |
