"Hell Comes to Frog Town", staring Rowdy Roddy Piper as one of the last fertile men on Earth. (And yet I like it.) |

Some real toilet-stoppers: King Kong (1976) Maximum Overdrive Jurassic Park 2 - the absolute worst, because Spielberg knows better and has no excuse for this prehistoric dino-turd. Any Billy Jack movie (showing my age here) The Golden Child Black Rain I second Solaris and Joe vs the Volcano for the record, I liked Napoleon Dynamite. |

Super Troopers is hilarious, now Alien 3000 has to be one of the worst movies ever. |

This one gets my vote, but it's hard to find. A little studio in England (Pendragon) came out with their own highly-touted version of "War of the Worlds" early last year (about the time Spielburg's version was coming out). It was supposed to be absolutely faithful to H. G. Wells' book, set in ~1898 or so. LOTS of hype about the movie but the release date kept getting pushed back again and again. A buddy of mine and I kept watching for it but didn't think it was released. Sometime this summer, my friend stumbled across it on DVD in a WalMart in Pensacola, FL. Man, this thing is B-A-D. It's over 3 hours long, and the special effects are the worst I've ever seen. It would be an excellent candidate for MST3K, if it was still around. "Jimmy Hollywood" with Joe Pesci and Christain Slater. I walked out of the movie and got my money back. |

Yes, that Pendragon War of the Worlds is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I forgot to put it on my list. An excruciating 3 hours of torture to watch. One more stinker - Millenium. |

This thread doesn't work so well as all the movies you mention are the worst. That's because most are not blockbusters or A movies, but B movies or low budget nonsense. One of the worst movies ever must be that trash production 'Gangs of New York". What a waste of celluloid, and money. Rocket |

"What a waste of celluloid, and money" Hmmm, 10 oscar nominations 32 awards 55 nominations I think they're fairly happy with it. |

The worst movie catagory is surly in the 'eye of the beholder' Look, a totally crap movie like Team America was soo bad it was genius! you could see wires, the fight scenes between the puppets were awful...but it was the funnest thing I've scene in years! Cheese at it's best! And a must see! |

Ezblast, come on man...I still have that famous Raquel Welsh Poster somewhere in the attic! Never saw a better use of a rabbit skin bikini than in that movie, 100 million years BC...can't be on the worst list! |

Hey, and in addition, the poster in question from 100 Million Years BC made a great prop and cover in 'The Shawshank Redemption'! (wife had to remind me as it made an impression on her!) |

Rocketman, I partially agree with you. I have no qualms about low-budget or newbie moviemakers putting out not so stellar material. You gets what you pays for. I give them slack. My big problem is with the big-budget, big studio stinkers. You'll see most of my selections belong in that category, especially Jurassic Park 2. They simply have no excuse to put out such mega-duds. Some I listed actually did quite well at the box office, but a sugar-coated turd is still a turd. |

I totally agree with Rocket and Van. Although I never saw it (I swear!), who's bright idea was it to give Mariah Carey a film? Glitter was an all time stinker. Grease 2 and Xanadu had to be Hollywood recipe movies made purely for the box office...definitely NOT for the material! |

The Incredible Hulk, without doubt the worst film I've ever made the mistake of paying to go and see. Absolutely dire, very little action (you saw it all in the trailer) & no humour at all, unlike all the other comic based films made in the last couple of years. |
