What would you folks think about having some Bad Web stick-on badges available at the Buell booth at the upcoming IMS's? It sure would be great to have a way of identifying some of the people on this board. Court...do you think the folks at Buell would be open to this? Do we have any graphic designers that could mock up a badge design? Blake...is this something that can be funded from sponsor fees? | ||

I just don't see Buell as doing it. They're VERY particular about BRAG chapters conforming to specific rules and standards and they don't promote specific BRAG groups (except word of mouth) at the IMS - and BRAG is Factory-supported. I just don't see Buell as taking any official stance on independent motorcycle enthusiast groups. (that doesn't mean I don't think there's a lot of good in Badweb) Wonder if we could raise the bucks to front a booth??? I think they're something like $2500 for a single-wide aisle booth for 2 days per show. Just my $0.02 | ||

I was just thinkin the same thing Slaughter, I know at some IMS shows they have booths set up outside the show in the foyer. That may be cheaper and a better way to get more people involved in running the booth. There could even be calanders and possibly t-shirts for sale there too. | ||

Sounds like a good idea. I could make the name tag and post here, ya'll could print them out and wear them. What would ya'll like for them to say/look like? As far as t-shirts and the like go, it has been brought up to Blake before, and I like the idea too. It just never seems to go anywhere. a few bucks to help the custodians out with the site too  I like your thinking, but none of us get paid, we do it because we want to. Any money raised (sponsors) goes to paying for the amazing amount of bandwidth this forum uses. | ||

I definatelly would have bought a shirt and helped outwith the stand. I went to IMS in Novi yesterday and there were no stands outside of the event this year. | ||

Just a heads-up, Blake has spoken/typed on this issue before. Take it to him directly first before making any plans on marketing badweatherbikers.com . Kind of like setting up dates for someone else's daughter, so to speak. Words to the wise, not intended to quench any enthusiastic fires or ideas, YMMV.  | ||

Mike - you are 100% correct - while we are PARTICIPANTS, Blake OWNS the site. My main point was that there was NO WAY that Buell/HD would allow handing out of ANY stuff for ANY enthusiast group - not even BRAG except possibly at the national level. | ||

Glitch, The BYOB "bring your own badge" idea seems like the least complicated and most effective way to go. It would be great if you could post something that we could download and fill our screen names. Thanks (Message edited by brotherbuell on January 09, 2006) | ||

Just a suggestion - I right clicked on the graphic above, then hit "save as" and saved the image in "My pictures". Went to My pictures, again right clicked and hit "open with" and selected "paint". Paint opens up, then you can use the "add text" function to put your name in. I'll follow this thread to see if there is a consensus as to the format - since our show (DC) is just in a few days. Thanks to the graphic artists for doing all the work! Don  | ||

Ya know.... I wonder if it would chap anybody's hide if some designanted pickup / van / RV "parked" in a strategic place with some BadWeB banners visible. The banners might be owned by Blake & the BBS and lent to those with the facilities & vicinities to do a small, grass roots kinda mini-club-hang thing at these events. Why on earth would I want to wear a badge that ID'd me as 'Glitch' (no offense Glitch).. But my hair is darker then his (last time I saw him) and I don't want folks thinking he suddenly got heavier and homelier..  LOL! Although I guess, once I'm home, I could try and print that 'other' version .. put my name on it.. and uh.. pin it on or something.. I can just see folks wondering about the small contingent of loonies walking around with this piece of paper pinned to their shirts... Yep, we're different.. In every sense.. LOL! | ||
