Sorry to hear that about TVR, Rocket. Another British automaker bites the dust. Are there any left now that aren't owned by non-UK interests? TVR was one of the last! |

It that's the new Camaro, it'll be another huge misstep by the GM design studio. |

No no Elf, you misunderstood me. TVR are ok. Nothing has changed except the majority share holding has been sold to a young Russian billionaire and he's plowed money into development of current and new models. As much as I like to harp on about TVR's this is a Buell board and I'm sure some of you get sick of it, but I'll mention this for now. When Benelli went belly up last year TVR new owner Nickolai Smolenski had a deal on the table to buy the fallen company. It was the intervention of the Italian workers union that b locked the deal because Smolenski wanted to move Benelli production to Blackpool UK within 2 years. That screwed the deal so the Chinese moved in, stating they were keeping Benelli production in Italy. Smolenski is often reported in MCN UK as wanting to produce his own bikes. I have two stunning prints from Glynn Kerr who drew two mock TVR bikes for MCN. Smolenski is serious about bikes it is said. I missed an opportunity to meet Smolenski about 18 months ago. He'd just bought TVR and was frequently flying in and out of Blackpool Airport where a pilot friend of mine was based at the time. Smolenski has an MV helicopter, a fancy Beechcraft and something smaller, all maintained when in England by the company my pilot friend flies for. Smolenski and my friend were on nodding terms and one day he invites my friend plus one for a visit to TVR along with a few of his Russian friends. I was in bloody France! Rocket |

Imonabuss, That one is a computer rendering done by a designer named Kris Horton a couple of years ago. To me, its more of a muscular sports car (a'la Shelby Cobra) than a standard muscle car. It looks like it would corner as well as it accelerates! I think GM has paid some attention to it, but I haven't seen anything about production plans. I hope the GM execs aren't complete morons, 'cause I (and a lot of the buying public, IMO) wouldn't buy the one at the top of the page, but I'd sure consider Horton's version! I thought GM had cancelled the new Rear Drive platform that was to be the Camaro... among many other names. Is it back on? Was this displayed at Detroit Auto Show? I'm so outofit. |

if the cuda has a 6speed trans and a IRS rear suspension... I'll get one. But the cost would be to high compared to the new mustangs which has been on the market for some time for the "new" to wear off. That new srt8 SUV gets 0-60 in under 6 seconds!!! |

The new Camaro (a) reminds me of a 69 from the windshield back. That front end does indeed scream Chrysler. The new Challenger is nice, but looks way TOO much like the original. I enjoy modern cars that revisit the old body styles. But lets not get into the Mustang II era ever again, OK? |

I have always been a GM fan, but while watching a commercial last night for the impala, and I have to say it looks a lot like the Lumina of a few years ago. I said to my wife that GM is really hurting in the style dept. what a shame. Another point, the GTO. They missed on that one.. Instead of going retro, with the Camaro, I wish they could come up with something new. I hope Firebird (my favorite) doesn't flop. |

I agree w/ Gearhead. GM is falling hard in the design department. I know the GTO was coosen design due to it being an existing car in Australia. The Camaro is a nice looking car, I would buy one. But the problem will be cost. The Roush Mustang will be prolly 10K cheaper and much better style. The HHR that my wife bought Is a kwel car, but there isn't much out there that is unique anymore. heck that one looks like hte PT cruiser....(same designer for both). |

Tripper, Don't really know the particulars, but I caught a car mag that noted that Australia has a complete line of RWD cars. For more limited production vehicles they could use those frames and add the body here. Maybe what they used for this? |

I can't wait til GM bring out the new retro version of the Aztek. a ha a ha a hahahahahahahaha.............. The missis heard me drooling over the Cuda/Challenger & accused me of looking at porno again. I told her she wasn't far off the mark, then showed her the pic, & said "Start saving that's what I want for Christmas in 3 years time" She even said it looked nice! |

Just saw that on TV coverage of the Detroit show, looked pretty good on screen. Obviously the Mustang has started something. |

Personally I dig it looks stubby and purposeful just like something else I own with less wheels. |

The more I see it, the more I like it. Reminds me of the '69. Had one when I was 16 years old. Wish I still had it. |

"I can't wait til GM bring out the new retro version of the Aztek" I'm tearing up with laughter. How can GM miss the mark so consistantly and so by so far? I do love that Chyrsler retro. It really does look like an early muscle car. Very cool. Chrysler may miss on reliability, but they can sure build what people want. |
