Imagine the level of pain and isolation it took to get to that point.
Be advised that neither you nor anyone you know is more that a few paychecks and a couple dozen rejections from being exactly there.

My best friend is in the middle of an extremely painful divorce, and was just committed for an attempted suicide. It's really tough to watch, knowing that there's nothing that I can do to improve the situation. I hope he pulls through this soon.
