Hanging out with some friends, but not drinking. I'm on muscle relaxers due to a strained lower back. Then News Years Day, working on the race bike. Have a Good New Year everyone! |

my usual: stay close to home, consume alcohol, play loud music, improvise pyrotechnics. last year we used incendiary devices and torched an ornamental lawn santa... involved gasoline, M-80s, and lots of dot45 as we shot up the remaining fragments. Drunk people are by definition easily amused. |

Turning in early... rode the crap out of the XB9SX today, about 200+ miles. What fun. The kids are watching "Robots", the wife and I are sipping White Star and I've got a nice Cuban to fire up later. Tomorrow's pork loin is marinating in ginger, soy and lemon grass and life is good... Happy New Year to all 3%er's out there! |

My plans are to keep my place dry. Woke up this morning to find everything flooded. There was 4" of water in the bedroom & about 10" of water covering the back yard. The other rooms were unharmed. It was fun driving as far as I could in the ol' Bronco II checking out the neighborhood. Driving over the land slides was almost as much fun as hitting the twisties on the Buell. I guess I'm a little nutty cause I actually like it when it floods here. It becomes a whole new world & people are actually nice to one another. Have a Happy New Year everyone |

Phillip, don't ya know you can get hurt on those things--and ,of course, all skateboarders are criminals. My son has been skating forever, got a bunch of sponsors, hopes to make the bigtime someday. My plans--kinda limited as I am at work until sunday.Hit the weightroom, have a light dinner and go surf eBay.Gonna make sure I stay indoors around midnight as it sounds like Iraq in this neighborhood--full auto weapons and all. Could use a couple of those Fat Tires. |

I spent New Year's Eve night working on the Uly. I finally got parts but had honey-dos to do before I could get to it. I finished putting on everything with less than 10 minutes in the year to go. Now I'm ready for that New Year's day ride. Here are some pictures of the old clutch lever that symbolizes this time of year. As you can see the clutch got it on both sides, it scrape as the bike was going forward then as the bar end for the hand guard dug in, the bike spun around and planed the opposite side. So here's to coming and going. Happy New Year!!! |

firemanjim...i hear you about getting hurt. i turned 51 in october and have only been skateboarding for about 6 months. last time i skated was on clay wheels around 69 or 70! it,s tough having a 13 year old daughter that wants you to keep up with her. i do look like the michelin man with all the gear i have on. helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, hip pads, tailbone protector and of course my trusty st. christopher medallion. my neighbors think i'm nuts already and this just keeps them guessing. philip |

thanks essthreetee, so far i have been able to avoid major injury. i just ride long boards up to 55 inches long. being here in houston i have to search for any kind of slope to bomb so i do a lot of pushing around the hood and just carve some turns. hoping to try a parking garage with a guy i met who says they have a couple with elevators and no security available after 1:00 am or so. that will either be a blast or finish me off! firemanjim...cool that your son is doing so well skating. hope he can make the big time. let me know if he gets any pictures in a magazine. it is unreal how some guys and girls can work a skateboard. i have a couple of longboard dvd's and when i watch them bomb and slide the downhill runs i'm torn between wanting hills like that or thankful i don't have them so i won't kill myself. gotta go to work...philip |

A band canceled down at the local club, so they called me to put something together with a drummer and an old guy that plays a Hammond B3 with a pair of Leslies and kicks bass. He was good, could follow everything. It was a country gig, but as soon as they were all good and drunk it was time for rock and roll! I had a pretty good time. |

i really like organ music. a church relocated from new orleans next to my office. walls are only sheet rock on either side of a two by four. fire and brimstone, talking in tongues and a drummer and organ firing rimshots and background! these guys and 4 girl singers are sooo looouuud i can't even talk on the phone while church is in session!!! lucky for me i like gospel and they do not get into rap. also the preacher has a good voice. i can't say i don't go to church anymore! sometimes the organ and drums jam and get real smooth and liquid. i love it. later...philip |
