Yup, winter's pretty bad! It's 6:45 PM and I'm about to close the window next to the desk where the computer is, cause it's starting to get cool out. It was about 78 this afternoon at the jobsite I'm working on. Yea it's a real bitch, this winter! AL ps: we DO have 4 seasons here in So Cal - Fire Mudslide Tax & Flu |

winter rocks. remember- when something's not to your liking, don't change the thing... change your liking. hey- my really badly lyme-artritic knees rule out skiing and boarding for me, these days, so I ice-fish more than I used to. very zen, icefishing.... |

I always glance at the thermometer when I am getting my first cup of coffee in the morning. The day before winter it was 11F at 7:00 AM. Today, the second day of winter, it was 11F at 7:00 AM. My conclusion is that winter is not big deal. Jack |

4 inches of snow this morning. have to fire up the plow rig after work. already wore the screwed tires down to nubs on my XR250. get around 12 or 15 hours of good fun on a rear screwed tire, shredding through alders, and other shrubbery is hard on the stainless screws. fun tho' Drummer has gone home to daddy, kevin's going to give it the magic. 7 more foot pounds in the middle, and also supposed to come back QUIET. |

Thanks Craig!! All my students thought I was in a good mood yesterday because it was the last day of classes before break. WRONG!! Once I told them why I was so happy, only a few got it but that's O.K. RIDIN' WEATHER IS ON THE WAY!! |

Drum Circle anyone? I'm heading to Texas over the holidays, I'm hoping to abuse the test drive option at the local dealer! |

Between The Solstice and Beltaine I always try to either drink an outrageous amount of Beer and Wine(verbotten the past few years) or hunt & fish as much and as often as possible. for me, these "pagan" (hate that word) calender graduations were never about some alternate "religion", but about the quantifiable promise of the seasons. regardless of how a human chooses to spend his/her faith ration, The sun, the moon, the earth and their interwoven cycles are a palpable constant which brings comfort and promise. Like my favourite oxymoron/album's title: "Forever Changes" |
