On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life." I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back. I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you. I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn. |

I have learned that you NEVER step on Superman's cape and that you don't mess with Bill Signed Bill. Actually very heart felt and thoughtful. |

All I've learned in my 43 years is that this is the only life I'll ever get and I can't relive the parts I've already lived, I can only live in the part that's left. |

An actual thing I learned this week. You're bestest buddy (cat/dog) won't use that nice new pet bed you bought for him no matter how much you spent on it, until you cover it with an old towel... It's a fabric and scent thing. Animals don't like artificial fur/fabrics/&such, plus, they don't absorb and hold scents (for which they use to recognize that something is their's to return to). |

There are two kinds of people in the world, those who divide everything in two kinds and those who don't. |

I've learned three things: 1 - Never play poker with a man named Doc. 2 - Never eat at a place called Mom's. 3 - Never drink with someone who has more troubles than you. Jack |

If you screw up, do not sweat it. You will get plenty of practice screwing up again! Then one day you will awake to find you are a professional screw up. See things do come to those who wait! |

I've learned that Maya Angelou is a great American and that plagiarism is all too common on the internet. It is a very good list though. I've learned that some folks, no matter how one might try to enlighten them, cannot see the wisdom in such positive uplifting philosophy. I've learned to remove myself from the presence of such negative naysayers as their proclivity for spreading malcontent and negativity can be infectious and turn to rot an otherwise uplifting and thoughtful community. I've learned that no matter how sincerely, how intently, or how gently one might try, no amount of perseverance will reach the cold and hateful hearts of some. That was a shocking revelation to me. The corollary is that I've learned to appreciate even more those who truly are good friends. I've learned that having lots of brain smarts doesn't make one wise, but can lead to arrogance. I've learned that saying "I was wrong" is a very difficult thing, but that being unable to do so is far worse. I've learned that accepting responsibility for a public discussion forum requires a very thick skin because lacking it will induce a feeding frenzy of attack. I've learned that those preaching most vigorously for tolerance are usually the most intolerant; it turns out that they just want others to tolerate them. I've learned that happiness is a choice, and that surprisingly some actually choose to not be happy. |

Worring about a problem. If you have a problem and its fixable, then fix it. Stop worring. If the problem can't be fixed then worring about it sure won't fix it. Don't worry be happy. ______ I also learned this year. If a state trooper has the nerve to question your militray service and make lots of rude comments. Just smile at him. Then file a complaint. His is on dispatch duty for 6 months at less pay. So if any Marines are jetting home on a 96 through Georgia don't show your military ID cause it will just one trooper off. |
