Anybody ever repair a tail section on a tuber? I have one that is cracked that I will use for track days and such. Would like to glue it up. Any recommendations on what works for these? Regards mike |

Try epoxy, if that doesn't hold use a fiberglass repair kit to patch it from the underside or back of the crack... |

Thanks Spidey. I forgot to mention the cracks are where the bolt holes are. Regards Mike |

I would use a fiberglass repair kit then between the frame an holes, let it cure, then re-drill the holes and go to town! |

Plastic welding kit? Basicall an air nozzle built in a heat gun with a fine tip... they come in handy... |

If tubers have the same plastic body parts that we have on our XB, don't use any glue. Do like P0p0k0pf wrote, do a plastic welding. You don't even need a plastic welding kit. If it is only for some cracks, use the a soldering iron that we use in electronic. With a clean tip, you just have to melt the plastic on both side of the crack (in and out). You must remove any body paint before doing the welding. Those kind of welding are a lot tougher than any glue you can use. |
