I got a laugh today while out riding at lunch. The local PD had a speed trap set up on the four lane outside of the business park where I work. One officer with the laser gun and two others picking up "the trapped". So, I see them when I head towards town to get lunch and know on my way back to work to watch me speed, because they could still be there. So on the way back I'm running with a group of cars and I'm two or three cars back in the pack. The whole pack is doing the speed limit, and I get laser tagged! Ha Ha Ha Ha! I know I have been tagged because my ECM warning is going off telling me that it's jamming the laser signal. I check my speed (I'm at or under the speed limit) and then turn off the "Blinder" and laugh that the LEO targeted me in the middle of the pack and I jammed his signal. That's what you call a "stealth XB" |

Loren- The excuse that you would have heard if you were stopped was that you were the easiest to stop. That happens a lot even though you weren't the fastest of the group. I'm curious, does your detector claim to block the laser? I would be interested in how it does that. Some of the old radar detectors would transmit a strong signal that would over ride the sending signal that would cause the radar to read '55'. Those were outlawed since they transmitted a signal that interfered. I remember an Iowa Trooper saying how his radar displayed 55 even though the unit was on standby. |

I love the speed traps they set up here. They have a guy dressed in camo sitting in the woods about 1/2 mile up the road and 6 cars waiting over and around a hill. I just happened to notice some dude in camo sitting in a chair in the woods one day then shortly after passing 5- 6 cars some with lights on and people pulled over and a few waiting in line to ticket. coming upon a discretely hidden camoflaged character pointing an elongated object at traffic on a highway i might let some wind out of his sails. that would be an instance where one might just ask questions AFTER the fact. |

I was thinking about calling Home Land Security about the issue since I work at a Nuclear Power Plant and they were withing half a mile of it. Sure would have been an interesting event. Unfortunately they could turn it on me. |

I have a feeling my first speeding ticket will be on my Buell. Every time I look down I'm speeding. |

A cop was asked, "how come you targeted me? I was passed by ten cars and they were traveling MUCH faster than I was." Cop says, "You ever go fishing?" Dude says, "Yep" Cop says, "You ever catch all of 'em?" |

The cop asked "Do you know why I stopped you?" I said, "Yes do you know why I was speeding?" Cop says "No, why?" I said "Because I wanted to see you get out of the car" Ron White Blue Collar Comedy Tour |

Kandie - My solution for avoiding speed creep is get the right speed and then put my thumb on the switch housing next to the throttle to push the flare on the grip up against the switch housing. And it makes me feel like I'm more focused on traffic instead of the speed. We have a couple of towns around here that reknowned for mercilessly enforcing their 25 MPH zones, no one ever gets pulled over without getting a ticket. Jack |
