New Bueller here and i am shocked at how poor the visibilty is on the CityX due to the vibration of the mirrors. Damn near useless. In any case, I am considering these http://www.bugeyes.com/ . If they work (I can see anything worse than the stock mirrors) is it legal in CA to take off the mounted stock mirrors (without replacing them)? thanks fellas. In Ca. the motorcycle is required to have at least one. The operator can wear as many as he/she desires. |

Fresnobuell, Doesn't the image smooth out at speed? |

those bugeye mirrors look like they would be more distracting than useful. |

If you can figure out hoe to use them with the handguards, bar ends are super, blur-free, and cheap; or just take off the handguards. |

Unfortunately, I am still <55mph during break in period, but the images are terribly blurry at any speed. I can't imagine them getting any better with speed (and if I can only see at >55mph, then it is still a problem). I have to say that the bugeyes seem like a invention worth trying--and I can send them back if they aren't working. Also, like alot of things, they might work after an adjustment period. Besides, it would be cool to take off the mirrors. I really don't think a cop will notice and if he does I can throw on the mirrors to take care of the ticket. thanks for the info and opinions, guys. |

I've done a lot of things that should have got me pulled over and was ignored but removing my mirrors got me pulled over faster than anything. Depends on what the LEO is looking for and wants to write up. It wasn't a Buell but still had worthless mirrors. You are required to have the left hand mirror here in Cali. It does seem that the faster you go on an XB the more it smooths out. |

Fresno - Head down to your local DMV office tomorrow and invest $3 in a complete copy of the Vehicle Code. Then you'll have something to read when the tule fog hangs around this winter. Best money you can spend to know exactly what the laws are. Of course, the judge may have a slightly different interpretation of the wording, if you meet him in his official capacity. Glenn |

I'm wondering what happens, when you turn your head, travelling at any sort of speed. I know the ad says aerodynamic, but so's a pyramid compared to a brick, so it means nothing. The way I see it, if you turn your head, one's coming in & one's going out into the main airstream, which is going to have the effect of trying to twist your head off. You might think of sticking one of those rudder fin things on to compensate. Also what happens if you come off & your helmet hits the deck? I just don't hold with sticking unneccessary stuff on my head. You could try a Bar-Snake to damp the vibes also. Best of luck, |

Makes you wonder why Buell (or anyone else either) cannot make a decent mirror. I use mine but half the time I am guessing. |

Dark - Might be able to, but have never looked to see if it's online. Don't think my printer would servive the printout, if it is. I'm "old school" and prefer the printed page if I have to really comprehend something. Besides, the computer cord isn't long enough to reach the "library". Glenn |

Oldguy....looks like we are neighbors! This is what I found at www.dmv.ca.gov and then searching on "mirrors": Mirrors 26709. (b) The following described types of motor vehicles, of a type subject to registration, shall be equipped with mirrors on both the left-and right-hand sides of the vehicle so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway through each mirror for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle: (1) A motor vehicle so constructed or loaded as to obstruct the driver's view to the rear. (2) A motor vehicle towing a vehicle and the towed vehicle or load thereon obstructs the driver's view to the rear. (3) A bus or trolley coach. (c) The provisions of subdivision (b) shall not apply to a passenger vehicle when the load obstructing the driver's view consists of passengers. Amended Ch. 74, Stats. 1970.
