the SUV definately won, but im glad to be alive and out of the ICU. modern medicine is amazing, somehow they drilled out my entire femur, put in a long titanium rod, screws, all from 2 3" incisions near my lower butt. my knee's broken in two spots (you can see the actual impact point on my lower femur) but they're just letting it heal on its own. anywayas, a long recovery ahead ....but a slow recovery is better than no recovery, right? if you look on the left side of my bike, you can see where my knee/leg was hit by the SUV (60 year old lady). still waiting on the insurance adjuster to give me a value for my bike (Message edited by ztferrari on November 19, 2005) Blake edited to insert character spaces between pics to avoid page going over-width. Scott, Glad you made it through your accident. Heal fast and well, we'll be thinking about ya. And your bike is gorgeous, in it's natural state. Can't wait to see her back in action. Bikes are replaceable, people are not. Glad to hear you are ok. Alex |

Sorry about your accident, same exact injury to my fiancee a couple months back. The break in in a similar spot and the pins look the same too. She is just now learning how to walk again and should be back to 100% by spring. Good Luck Healing, You will be riding again in no time!!! |

I'm doin alright, except being pretty much immobile is driving me nuts. I have about a month or 2 before i can start learning how to walk again, probably 6 months before im as good as new. the bike is totalled, although im not sure what the insurance adjuster is going to offer me for it, im hoping its on the better part of 5k, but who knows. not sure what i can get from the lady, ive got a lawyer but they're as slow as a honda :-/. thanks for all your support, ill keep you posted |

Zt: GWS The legal stuff is slower than elephants mating to produce results (elephants take almost 2 years to calf) Again sorry about your injuries, You mentioned that the driver of the SUV was on her cel phone I sure wish that the LEOs could / would put a stop to that type of driving ( stiff fines and suspensions ). |

yea the bikes totalled.... i was going 60-70 when she hit me, i think i tried to ride it out but then bailed and rolled on the ground and hit the concrete barrier. i didn't have a single scratch on me, i was wearing a nice alpinestar leather jacket, gloves, and the buell helmet. im still amazed, my jacked only has 2 very small scuffs. the bike has damage all over, and im thinking frame damage as well.... front rim cracked, front fairing mount/fairing is toast, all bodywork is a gone'r, the gearshifter spine is bent, not sure whats all messed up inside the engine, no handlebars or controls.....you get the picture, totalled. almost every day I think back and try to go back to the wreck and figure if there was ANYTHING i could have done to avoid the situation, and to be honest i don't think there is. I had maybe 1-2 second warning time before i saw her dart from her lane before she nailed me. In retrospect, sometimes things like this CAN'T be avoided, but it all comes down to how you react AFTER the hit. i really think i should be dead, it was a really hard hit at a fairly good speed, on an elevated freeway (100 ft), in congested traffic. Someones watching out for me. im sure riding dirtbikes for 10 years helped me learn the right way to fall (there definately is a right and a wrong way to dump a bike)...i suggest everyone try on a mountainbike to start, it can be a lot of fun :-) ) |

adjuster offered me 4520.90$ for it, or 3900 if i want to keep the bike..... not sure what im going to do, i really am not sure how much on the bike is worth selling (if sellable at all). Anyone need any S2 parts? let me know |

So, let's see if I understand this: $4520.90 -3900.00 ======== $ 620.90 There is well more than $620 worth of usable parts on that bike, at least from what I can tell, especially if the tranny cassette is usable. I can't afford much right now, but right off the top of my head I can see an exhaust, handlebars, engine, and other stuff that I or others could put to use. Your dash and gauges alone are worth a few coins as well. |

You would be able to get at least $1000 for the motor alone. I'd take the money & the bike, part out the bike and buy another. But yeah, I'm weird that way |
