I am thinking about buying one today, in an hour or so, but I want to know if it's a mistake like my ML320 Mercedes was. I want to buy a 2002 Acura MDX Touring SUV. |

Not Acura, but huge Honda fan, had a Honda as long as I've been driving. The MDX has won SUV of the year more than once I believe, so it's got something going for it. But you never know what you're getting when you get used. Is it a certified pre-owned Acura, or an individual owned vehicle, Miles? How does body look? |

My wifes (now mine) 91 Integra has 214K miles. very low maintenence has been applied (timing belt twice, some rotors) can't kill the thing. |

I went from a MB E320 to an Acura TL and all I noticed was an extra $20K in my pocket (so I bought a Ulysses). In my opinion the TL was a step up...more HP, better handling and fit and finish on par or better than MB. The reliability has certainly better. I have an ML 320 that's ready to be replaced. I am considering the Acura RDX that's due out in March '06. The only thing you don't get with the Acura is the prestige of the MB. |

Prestige ain't worth poop when you have to pay $250 per wheel for brakes every time they go out, or when you drive your Benz around with it sounding like a sick Pinto because 2 out of the 4 Cat. Conv. crack. It's really prestigious when you have to cover your face so nobody will recognize you. (Message edited by cochise on November 18, 2005) |

Yeah, we are on the same page...and wait until you see the bill for the catalytic converter. I understand that you have to replace the whole exhaust system from header to tail pipe. I hope I mine lasts until I trade it for the RDX. |

Get the Acura, it will run forever and besides. If you do have a problem with it i can almost bet that there will be about 1500 locals in your area that could help you out. They have to be about the easiest cars to work on, well, next to their parent company Honda. |

I WORK ON MERCEDES, AND YES THE CATS DO GO BAD OFTEN, BUT YOU ONLY HAVE TO REPLACE THEM FROM THE HEADERS TO THE RESONATOR. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE, BUT THEY ALSO CARRY AN 8 YEAR, 80K MILE WARRENTY ON ALL EMISSION RELATED PARTS. EVERY CAR HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS. TRY FINDING A CAR WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. |

Chris, it looks like you're yelling because you use all caps all the time. Not everyone knows you like we do. Try typing in all lower case, at least that way people won't think you're taking things too personally, and screaming all the time. |

Luckily, for me, the cat problem was only 200 or so for labor, but they did the harmonic Balancer fix, the cats (2 outta 4), and the power steering fix. Warranty/Recal. Dealer said they couldn't work the trade, and pay plan for me, and wouldn't try any harder so I told them to off. |

The Cayenne has sold well here as well. Waiting for the Cayman to hit the shores. |

I have an Izuzu Axiom. An odd sort of vehicle that did not sell well despite being a decent SUV, and they are also seldom seen. I was toying around with the idea of removing the Axiom badges and replacing them with a badge that says "Chipotle" or "Jalapeno" An homage to the creative marketers at Porsche of course. |

Buy a used escort. Save your money for something important like more motorcycles. If you don't need more motorcycles, then send it to me. I ALWAYS need more motorcycles. |

Hell yeah Crusty! Most cost-effective car I ever owned was a Honda Civic. I payed $400 for it and used it for three years. It got 40MPG. |

Can't fit the kids into an escort, they're cramped enough in the ML320 |

Cochise - I bought an '05 TL w/NAVI for my wife this past April. Having worked for a Lexus dealership back in high school I really thought no other car company could treat a customer so well...I was wrong. Landers Acura did an excellent job of kissing my when I took the vehicle in for the 10k and an oil change. We haven't had a single problem with the car and now it has almost 15K on it. I love driving this car. I am seriously considering an Acura for my personal vehicle when I wear the Avalanche out. If only they could make an Acura version of the Ridgeline... |

Jak, take care of the tranny, I am a Certified Honda tech and the transmission for all of the V6's are JUNK!!!! I have just myself installed over 200 transmission in the last 2 years, NO JOKE!! and we have over 30 techs in the shop and we all do trannys. I think it was 5 a day we do. The car is great otherwise, you cant beat a honda for reliabilitiy, they just cant build a transmission! |

Buell666 is right about the cats almost all are covered under warranty. Besides they have a campaign on the MLs. But they (ML) are piles of TRASH in my opinion, though they make me $$. |

i totally agree with buellin_ri. ml's are trash. i had one for about 2 months, then i traded for a bad azz tahoe. tahoe was much better in my opinion. the only reason i sold it is because 35inch tires that only allow you to get 9mpg really sucks. |
