I went to the IMS looking for this new Yamaha MT-05 with no luck. I spoke with several Yamaha reps about it and all they would tell me was that it had a Euro release coming in 2006. I would love to get one of these in my stable to put next to the Buell. New Pic...

Slowdude, the MT OS is a prototype built by DK Design. There are two other companies involved but I can't remember their names. DK I believe are working out of Germany but I think their HQ is in Holland, so a Euro based design. I saw it in the flesh at the recent NEC show here in England. Best I can tell you, it wasn't the most rewarding of motorcycle shows I've been to. No MV's anywhere to be seen. A good few customs, three of which came from Ness, and some cool one off's from private individuals, but again nothing like shown in previous years. New models, the ugly new ZX10 - what a shame. Fly by wire R6 looked sharp in red and white but other colours dull really. The new mega bike from Kawasaki looked dated in the styling. The new to the world BMW 1200GS Adventure looked purposeful and mighty. The Screaming Eagle V-rod looked way too clean. Real racers such as a period JPS Norton Rotary ridden by Steve Spray was cool to see, and Honda's little robot fella Asimo was ultra cool to watch walk the walk and talk the talk, and read MCN, but you know what, I'd have rode home on that MT OS prototype rather than anything else I saw at the show. I did mingle with Troy Bayliss, Steve Parish, Neil Hodgson and others, and one of the loveliest MCN Babes lives 8 miles down the road from my sister and she knows the local we drink in when I visit. Still, I'd have left her behind too for the MT OS Rocket |
