Weather report is calling for a high of 62 on Sunday. Doubt we'll have too many more like it this year, I'm just not ready to park my bike for the Winter. I've never had to do that before. Much prefer year-round ridin weather! |

i hear ya. my wife says i have seasonal affective disorder. always get depressed when riding season slows down. this sunday i'll be drivin my older daughter back to delaware so i'll miss this one. we've still got a few more weeks where the weather can be really nice. about 3 1/2 months of crappy weather to follow. definitely thinkin of movin someplace a little warmer with lower taxes to boot (13k a year on a 1600sq ft house is a killer). |

Sunday out for me.. things goin on. Mike.. have to get with you on the 200x and by the way stop by maroneys... heated gloves for $25 socks 5 bucks and I saw a vest for 40. Picked up a pair of gloves all I need now is a nice warm pair of pants and im good for thw winter rides. Van trip would be nice but i think if we went anywhere real good we might get into trouble being that we havent been out actually doing any real riding. Tony I'm still around just been real busy and as you know have issues goin on right now. |

I'll be heading over to Marcus Dairy in CT on Sunday morning. Gonna meet up with some fellow COGgers (Concours Owners Group. However, due to uncontrollable obligations I will not be making a day out of riding. |

Mike - That's what I pay per year on this side of the river. It is robbery. I am giving the town a brandy new Uly every year. Almost makes me cry. |

lunch, my only saving grace is that my property value has increased quite a bit in the 6 years i've been here. two of my buddies were recently transfered by their companies, one to richmond virginia and the other to arizona. the property taxes on the absolutley beautiful new homes they picked up run roughly one year to one month of what i pay here! they are both in "nice" areas with good school systems. WTF??? the way see it instead of building a nice retirement fund and sending both of my my children through whatever form of higher education they choose i am simply throwing it away! i have yet to figure out exactly what i'm supposed to be getting in return for this fleecing of my family. my brothers home in park city utah cost over ten times what mine did here in new york and his taxes are HALF! |

Ah. Well, if today is any indication, tomorrow is riding weather for sure. Let me know what's going on. I may take a putt up to Perkins, and just cruise the area solo if nothing else is going on, it'll be nice to get out of the City. |

Mike - yeah unfortunately property value is a very volatile thing. Cash is real. Imagine what we could do with that cash we give away every year if we invested it even conservatively. Our tax is comprised of 90% school taxes. I don't even have kids, yet they family who rents a small house with 4 kids is going to school on my dime. I don't know what the answer is. Some say responsible commercial development will help alleviate the residential tax burden, some say senior housing will help. The premise behind this is that they contribute to the tax rolls but don't increase the cost of education. Once we get our business established, I'm thinking cash out, move further upstate, as long as I have access to a machine shop, and shipping, I can do OK. |
